Built in 45 would have been a MB or GPW WWII-style Jeep. M151's didn't come along until the 60's.

Shows how old and confused I am getting. In retrospect you are right. The one we sent to the museum was the WWll version, Willys stamped in the front grill. I need to find a copy of the old TM for those. Probably on Ebay.

Remember the 1949 Birds egg blue Ford car that was a change from the turtle back fords built in '48
Also cannot remember but did it have the Naugahyde leather seats . the '52 models had?
Pity the Extinction of the Naughta animal in having to produce all those tough car seats for vehicles.
I do understand a few are in captivity Northern Missouri.

I was in the Army when we started transitioning from M151A1 to the HMMWV. The biggest issue for our Cavalry Troop was the the 1st Sergeant was going to lose “his” Jeep!I saw a video on the replacement of the Humvee. Some Oshkosh company. Quarter million dollars a pop! I think they should go back to the old M151!
