Anybody Remember Back When?

My 1961 Morris Oxford started good with the hand crank. So did the 1950 Farmall C.

And if Lucas didn't let you down the Champion spark plugs would, horrible things.

I've never owned a British car (nor actually known anyone who did). Heard the horror stories, but never any details. What was so bad about Lucas?

As far as plugs go, IMHO a sparkplug is a sparkplug. Never noticed any difference between 'em.

Lucas parts would just stop working then decide to start again so when you went to find the problem it wasn't there, corrosion was also a problem probably due to poor sealing, the list went on and on.
As for spark plugs there was a huge difference, I can only guess that it was inferior materials as they burnt out quickly and the insulators cracked.
I use NGK or similar for our engines.
We have always had euro or jap cars and more recently korean who are starting to show the others up but all have been reliable and with excellent road manners with the ability to corner at speed without the urge to roll or spin out.

Sitting in the balcony of the movie theater on Saturday morning and squirting dill pickle juice on those below...or was it just me?

Pickle juice? Had to be dill?
Nope. That’s a bit specific.
Now if you said throwing popcorn.....

Popcorn? Nope, not one to waste good food. Ice from the soft drinks, maybe. Oh, how I loved theater popcorn. Don't think I've had any since 1972 when we went to the drive in in Anchorage to see all the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, one after the other.

Man, you live out in the boonies! I guess if you’re going to drive to town for movies once a century, those are some good ones to see.

I watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at a drive-in when it came out. I saw all of Clint's bubble gum westerns.
