Looking for anyone who has used the Titan hydraulic clamping tree and shrub puller, or, another “economy” similar tool. ($900-$1200).
How did it perform?)

We have a generic one... pic below... Great attachment for small stuff, just have to remember the limitation of the FEL... We use it all the time... (& we purchased still new... for a crazy low price at an auction, which made even a better deal...)

I have an adaptor plate for the 3 Point hitch which will allow us use it on the 3PT also... but haven't used it that way yet... but should have much greater pulling power for stumps...

I recommend increasing the budget and getting a higher quality puller: Buckthorn Puller

And then there is this version:

I have a Hawthorne “problem” - small, scrubby, Very thorny trees; shallow routed though. Thorns will penetrate leather gloves. Looking for a solution to get them to the burn pile without handling them, but not a commercial venture.

Do you know the brand - it looks pretty nice with a push bar. Would you say it will handle 2 1/2” trees?

Danuser Intimdator has good reach, maneuverability and easy to operate with a tractor FEL. Option of digging out much bigger trees. Nice protector for the thorny stuff. Very useful for us. Costs more, does more.

Maybe I'm being phobic but putting a tree puller on a tractor loader that's off set to one side presents issues for the loader?

I use my grapple with the adaptor plate I added to it. It will hold on to and pull anything that the hydraulics of the loader can handle. You can read about its development below:

@TmbrWlkr - we pull 2 1/2 - 3" stuff (especially if it is shallow root stuff), if it is stubborn stuff we just rock it back & forth & it usually pulls.

The most important thing is awareness of your tractor's FEL / hydraulics capabilities & not push it... You can definitely break stuff...

I believe ours is made by Mid-State Attachments (I can check)... again we bought it at an auction (actually 2 of them) & a 48" grapple... all new... super cheap. They are not the heaviest built nor the quality of some of the above mentioned units. I looked at them all & decided for our use & the ability of our machine these would work well for us. They are also lighter in weight then most I looked at, which was important to me as every pound a the attachment weights it takes away from the loader. If I had a big machine or a skid-steer I might have purchased a much more robust unit but our machine will never pull the stuff those implements are designed to pull...

So, for us this was an incredible purchase for the price & has worked very well for our needs...

With pullers sometimes you can grab and pluck with the FEL. Most times grab low and push forward will uproot with more force.

Been my observation that tree pulling is much easier in the early spring with less ground disturbance. Roots just slip out of the ground easier.

A piranha toothbar is great and faster than a grapple taking out the brush and small trees. Making piles. The V-shape teeth grab the stems and pulls up the small trees or brush by the roots. Most impressive clearing tool. Con is it can’t carry brush very well.
