Anybody using Amsoil diesel oil in kubota?

I use Amsoil in my B2400. All other brands of hydraulic fluid I used caused me to lose power steering after an hour of hard mowing. That's over a period of 10 plus years. Since I've been using Amsoil for the last year and half I've had NO problems with my power steering. Is it a coincidence?

I have every Amsoil diesel oil and they worked great; from my old bx22 to my newer 24. Now using There 5w-40 and Lc20...best combo out there for great UOA for me.

I have a bx2660 and am just north of you. Would that 5w30. 3000 series work year round? You run it in your 23 year round?

I have used Amsoil in my 1980 Kubota B7100 HST. No oil-related problems. My biggest problem with that model is plugging the radiator with chaff, resulting in overheating.

I'm doing my 50 hours fluid change tomorrow morning on my Mahindra 5035 HST. I've been doing lots and lots of reading lately on oils and learned more about oil than I ever thought I'd want to know.

For what it's worth, Some of the third party tests I've seen ranks Redline diesel engine oil at the top. Amsoil was good, but wasn't the best.

More reading and I've come to the conclusion that any good brand name at the proper weight works plenty good. The only advantage I can see for a full synthetic is low or high temp use. Whether or not it is better for vehicles that sit a lot (long term stability) seems to be sketchy.

My biggest turn off for some of the brands is their local availability. I prefer to be able to go to a store and get it when I want/need it. Amsoil is mail order, can't find Redline anywhere and Royal Purple (another oil that rated very good) I can't find diesel oil locally, only oil for gas engines.

I have 10 gals of Shell Spirax S4 TMX for the hydraulics/HST and 2 gallons of Rotella T6 full synthetic for the engine sitting in the garage for the fluid change tomorrow. I expect both will work plenty well. The T6 should be fine for the western Pennsylvania winter.

When we get to the level of Amsoil, Redline, Mobil Delvac 1, etc top line synthetics, while there may be some differences under controlled lab type testing, it is extremely remote that one could tell the difference out in the real world. Of course, look for quality, but never neglect a good value. In most cases, a simple off the shelf Rotella T6, Delo 400 synthetic, etc or even the high quality regular HDEO oils are going to offer more than enough engine protection than most people need. It is easy to get all caught up in marketing minutia and hype, especially when it comes to the boutique oils. I really have no dog in the boutique or off the shelf big name game. I use a Schaeffer HDEO that I get for my commercial business use. I just take what I need from drums I have on hand and change the oil in my compact.

Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I've finally come to. There are certainly differences and we can point to specific tests that show those differences, but unless you're really beating your equipment in harsh environments, I don't think we'd see any of those differences come into play.

I've run Rotella T in my Dodge Cummins since I got it in 2004 and have never had any problems related to oil. I expect the Rotella T6 synth will be just fine in the tractor...and it is easily available in so many locations. The key is ensuring you are changing the oil and filter at proper intervals. My tractor calls for engine oil change every 200 hours, but I think 150 will be what I'll do. It holds a whopping 2 gallons of oil. Over the life of it and the hours I put on it, that certainly isn't going to break the bank by a long shot. Considering what the oil does, clean oil more frequently certainly can't hurt.
