Anybody want a free loader?

Hey SG,
I found this great link this fellow has on tractor forum.com, which has some manuals for the Dearborn loaders. It appears from the pics of his different model manuals, that this one is a model 19-22, looking at the overall design geometry. Here is a link for anyone needing manuals for your old Dearborn loaders.

Hope yall find this useful!

I think this might be the same loader, hard to tell for sure from the picture. There is suppose to be a seperate pump that connects to the front of the motor drive pulley. These pumps are on ebay from time to time for $40.00? You often see the whole loader for $100-200.00. The hyd's of the 8N aren't really stong enough to handle the loader. Tells you this in your Owner's manual. This size loader is a hand full for the small axles and front spindles of an 8N, notice the photo tractor, don't have standard tires. That's not to say a lot of folks don't do it, but be careful, and keep the ft end tight.
You also have to mount the tractor from the rear, which is a pain!

The loader in that picture appears to be the 19-61 shown here.

Dearborn 19-61

If you look carefully at the front left side of the grill on the picture you posted you can see the additional hydraulics used on the dump bucket. The 19-22 model has a smaller bucket mounted on the inside (actually the 19-61 shows a smaller bucket also, maybe the one in your pic is aftermarket add on or was an option). The 19-22 model is a gravity dump activated by a rod. That should somewhat decrease the weight on the front end I would think.

If you let your mouse hover over the pic on the link to the manual, it will pop up an enlargement box in the bottom right corner where you can zoom in on the manual. (If you are running winXP)

Plenty strong at 1500 - 1700 psi.. its the flow rate that gets you.. 2.9gpm.. Still lots of dealer installed loaders used the corenr tap. Stinger or aux engine setup would be far superior though, as you mention. I have some dealer literature back from before the 8n.. from either 9n or 2n era.. and they show the stock corner test port hookup.. or for a few more bucks.. upgrade to the 'deluxe' version of an aux pump... ( Guess the marketing guys were getting smart by then! )

I imaging just about any loader is 'too much' for the front end. The steering members and kingpin always took a beating from loaders. ires make a difference too. If it has the early 4x19's the'll have to go to one of the 6.x x 16 implement tires. Lotsa people even swap a car tire on.. makes steering that much harder too.. but handles the weight. A N with a loader is a powered wheelbarrow at best, in my opinion.

That's what I have been finding out about it by reading.
Probably not a good idea to add a loader to my front end.
I'm thinking more along the lines of a rear scoop.
Something I can go scoop up some dirt and use it fill in
holes and low spots in the yard.
This would be perfect for my uses around the house.

Really would like to have a FEL someday tho.

You've seen my 660 right? Perhaps you could look for a 711 or 722 loader. They did make bracket kits for the 8n. Way lighter than a conventional loader.

A rear scoop is a decent workhorse in its own right. You can actually 'dig' better with a rear scoop. 8n and loader arn't 'diggers' just more of powered scoops/wheelbarrows.

That looks like something along the lines of the one-arm loaders made for a Farmall Cub. Neat, but the Cub didn't have a strong frontend for that stuff either.

Still cool though /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I saw an even odder one yesterday.. an Allis 'g' with a loader... and it's spindles are the same size as a farmall cub.. and it's hydro pump is only rated for 1000psi.. etc. and low flow.. like 1gpm

Thanks for the link to the Dearborn Loader. I have a restored NAA with the 19-22 loader with both the bucket and the manure fork. I'm the second owner. Up until I found this forum I was planning on selling the NAA....but I love the old girl too much and we've spent too many hours together. Decided to keep her. Had the loader on and off many times over the years but it is a bit of work to do so.
Great forum /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
