Anyone affected by the gas pipeline break?

Winter blend is cheaper than summer blend. But summer blend produces more energy so the MPGs are slightly better with summer blended gas.
We see 10 - 30 cent spikes every couple weeks here, year round. It jumped from 1.95 to 2.25 overnight last Wednesday. It will slowly drop back down over the next couple weeks, then spike again overnight.

The local Sheets gas station here is down. Guess no supply. Hope they get the pipe line repaired quickly.

I just made the trip from near Statesville NC to Seneca SC this morning via I 40, US 321, I 85, SC 153, and US 123. I saw only two stations that were clearly out of gas -- one on I 85 near Spartanburg SC and one on US 123 near Seneca SC. Other stations not clearly visible from the Interstates may have been out.

Steve, I work in Seneca.

Anyway, yes, prices have gone up pretty quickly. Have heard of several stations out of supply, but haven't found one myself yet. I filled up last week around mid $1.80's. Went to pump Saturday and price was $2.09, but next pump had ethanol free for $2.29. That close, no brainer. Filled up on the good stuff. Noticed diesel is cheaper than gas pretty much everywhere right now.

I was in Martin County, NC over the weekend. Eastern part of the state. Some stations were out of gas. Others had long lines that looked like the 70's when there were odd/even days.

A friend just told me he drove from Atlanta to Augusta today and went to 3 stations before he found gas

No problem finding gas in Ashland, along I-95 yesterday, but prices were up .16 from Friday.

Yesterday afternoon, only one of seven gas stations had gas and that one station was full of cars waiting to get fuel.

This morning, none of the seven gas stations had gas. Two stations looked like they were still pumping diesel and one station did not have bags on the diesel pumps. However, that station is usually packed with contractors filling up with diesel and there were none this morning so I think they might have been out of diesel.

I drove to work this morning but I am working from home until there is fuel at the stations again. Even if they get the pipeline flowing again on Friday, I think the fuel won't be in Greensboro until Sunday. Greensboro has a huge terminal and is where our local stations get fuel. Even if the fuel is in the terminal on Sunday it will take days to get to the stations and then people will fill up since they are our of gas and the stations will be out again. One guy in the industry said it will take 2-3 weeks for supply to be back to normal AFTER the pipeline is fixed.

Later,
Dan
