Anyone else love tools like I do?

I think a fire is kinda different from a theft, in that they can find the melted/burnt items in a fire VS no trace in a theft. In a theft, there's not even a hint they were there except for the empty spaces they once occupied.

I'd delete your post and possibly lock the thread if I had your moderator status......

Not even close......

What is that about? Delete his post? Lock the Thread? Who has moderator status?

The same 3-4 guys keep getting into arguments in the forums over and over again and posts get removed. They keep at it and threads eventually get locked. I'm a moderator. Oh joy. That pretty much sums it up.

To get back on topic. I really like tools and have been acquiring them for 35 or so years. While I have a fairly well equipped shop at home it did me little good when at my remote property. It always seemed like the tool I needed was 45 minutes away. A few years ago I bought a Montazuma triangle tool box and it has a permanent spot in my “farm/hunting” truck. Now I have 99 percent of what I need when at our remote property. This box has been one of best purchases I ever made.

I like that setup. If I had two different properties, I would have one too.

That's good to hear. I've been thinking about those boxes for awhile. Sure seem like they would be handy to have. Looks like it's mounted near the tailgate of a conventional bed?

On insurance claims----
Had a major water damage claim in the making and asked about not having receipts to which the adjuster replied that they would remit 1/2 of retail of similar model.
(not top end models , like perhaps 21" TV @ Wallmart prices)
Great, while that TV is scrap and I have 2 spares I'll get 3 x 1/2 and be ahead with a new TV.
He settled for one El Cheepo new TV @100%

When It came to washer and drier (both showing age with some rust etc) I simply said "how about $150 for both", scratching his head he asked why only that?
My reply was they still work but any failures will probably be water damaged switches or timers so $150 will keep them going just fine.

He laughed, agreed and never questioned any of my claims.

Total claim ranged $30K and I had check in hand 2 weeks after submitting 3-4 pics (by Email) of some repairs.

I think the moral is to not try to screw the insurance with wild claims.
While I shuddered anticipating wild increases, They merely removed the 5% 'no claim' discount for 3 years.
PS, still with them for everything I own.
(Loyalty works both ways!)

Back to tools,
My wife is also a book keeper type so have lots of receipts.
I also have an itemized list of tools with cost and retail noted as I have a lot of yard/garage sale tools in my shop.
Love a bargain !.

cdaigle430,
I consider tractors as equipment. So does my tax guy. But I call my trator my therapist.

As to your M12 Crimper, just what all does it crimp? Water pipe? Gas pipe?
hugs, Brandi

I love this little guy :)

M12™ FORCE LOGIC™ Press Tool Kit with Jaws

Soon I will by the PEX heads that go with it. For now I will just use it for PEX and Copper.

It is not mounted. It sets on the rubber bed mat and doesn’t move much. I can slide it sideways if needed for bed space. This is my play truck so it’s either locked in my shop at home or driven to our rural property so I don’t worry about theft.

I also have my daily truck when I need to haul large stuff.
