Anyone else seeing signs of an early winter?

IDK about winter, but this has been the wettest fall I’ve seen in years. We have had 4” of rain during the month of October and over 16” since late June. The past two days it has snowed in the higher elevations, with about 6” above 9,000’ elevation.

Talked to my sister who lives near Deerton, 30 miles or so east of Marquette, and she said they missed all the snow but had lots of wind.
The lake was rocking west of
Munising.

We missed it here in Houghton, which is fine by us! Just a dusting that's now largely gone. I hear Ironwood got some.
Areas that were inland with some altitude got hammered no snow by my place or downtown Lanse, by the lake I think that's common with lake effect/enhanced snow.

It's crazy right now in eastern Kansas.....suppose to get down to 22 deg F tonight .....yet be up to 80 deg by Saturday. And....no Fall rain. I'm glad that I didn't do any Fall seeding ....what with the price of seed and diesel. Guess there is no "sign" of an early winter.

Cheers,
Mike

Snowing just a bit early for our neck of the woods. But then we will be back close to 80 in a few days so go figure.

The view from my living room window a couple mornings ago. It has melted off the valley floors as of this morning but the mountains are still white. Winter storm forecast to move in tomorrow night - with 3-4' of snow predicted for the Sierra Nevada mountains and a few more inches for us.
