Thanks Guys - Im traveling again for work this week and will now be tearing the entire room apart and sleeping with one eye open

On a more serious note I would get out of there and check my gear VERY VERY VERY closely.

BEST THING YOU CAN DO is get out now! Inform the closest health dept ( after getting your refund ) and find a upscale place ( do what I do and carry a hammock...I never use the beds. The Bed Bug issue is getting to be so bad in the US that D.C. has shut down a fire department for cleaning and several other government offices.. REPORT THIS ASAP

Just recently delt with this in Flr Italy. You be surprised even the best hotels have them. Do not keep clothes on the floor keep them in your suit case. Look in the hidden corners of the bed. Even better to hang you clothes. If you bring them home then you reall y have problems.
Bed bugs crawl the don't have feet that can climb walls like spiders and ants so they don't move well on smother surfaces. The best way to kill them is heat like a clothes dryer but I wouldn't bring my clothes in the house.
They use trained dogs to find them. The have huge trucks with diesel generators on them that they run electric heaters th heat entire house to 130 degrees F for 5 hrs. We just went through this at work.

I'm in Ohio & this hotel chain is one of the better ones. It is actually the best one in thw area.

You can probably find them at any hotel because you never know who was there before you.

In order to go to something better I would have to drive about 25-30 miles one way.

Really? I agree change hotels if you can but you never use the beds? How do you hang the hammock in the room? I sleep in hotel rooms about 100 nights a year because I travel on business regularly. I do stay in 'upscale' places for cleanliness, food, amenities, etc. but really... don't use the bed??? Hysteria is mounting on bed bugs. Granted they can be an issue but it is not as big a problem as being touted here.

I just have a routine. I enter, run through some checks in the room, set my buglight in the corner and let the sound and aroma of them fizzling and popping drift me off into a booze induced coma. Then when I get home I soak all belongings in gas and torch it

Ok I made the last couple parts up. I do pack lightly, take everything out of room everyday, upon returning home full travel bag is quarantined, and then laundered.

Bedbugs are can strike any hotel motel. One in town was going through semi loads of mattresses for awhile. Just pay attention to your room.

Bed bugs are a big problem in the northeast, New York City , Philadelphia, etc. Not just hotels but hospitals and nursing homes also having problems.
