Anyone experienced increased NO2 emissions on modern tractors with DPF?

It helps, but the EGR does not operate at all times during operation.

The SCR is what operates all the time during operation.
Only during certain criteria/operating conditions, catalyst have been on diesels before dpf and def. Due to the high combustion temps associated with diesels, NOx has always been an issue.

Even some of the newer diesels have reduced CR to help try to lower NOx output.

Like I've said many times, if only Rudolph Diesel knew.....

Other than fertilizer, I have no use for DEF as nothing I own requires it.

You forgot to unplug it.
Something I find amusing concerning EV owners and that is where they 'think' the electricity comes from.. They 'think' it comes from the wall outlet when in fact it comes from the power plant /generating station a lot of them want mothballed because they aren't 'green'. Stupid is as stupid does I guess.....

I can't imagine what tractor makers were thinking when they started putting the exhaust below and in front of the operator. It constantly stinks and, worse, irritates my airways. So, I built my own vertical exhaust, which ends a little above the canopy and a few inches forward of it. It's a huge huge improvement. I'm surprised that I couldn't find any aftermarket kits for this, but it wasn't so hard.

In the case of Kubota (at least when it comes to my M9's, the dpwnward facong exhaust is / was an option that I have. It was an option for farmers that were using their tractors to fill feed bunks inside barns for cattle where the overhead clrearance was limited and I like mine as it exhausts in front of the operators foot platform. I rarley smell and exhaust not that it would bother me anyway, because it never has....and a vertical exhaust in my case, blocks my forward vision anyway. Compared to my older pre 4 non emissions units, I find the post 4 tractors, especially the larger ones with urea injection to stink.

Almost every tractor I've ever driven has had a vertical exhaust, only a few have had low one's. Some of those blew right in your face when hooking up things to the drawbar. My little Kioti has a low forward exhaust and hasn't irritated me yet.

Like I stated, with Kubota at least, it's an option (low mount exhaust). I own one vertical and one low mount. In my case, the low mount dumps the exhaust outward to the left and I bought the tractor with the optional low mount already installed. Never been an issue but then it don't stink like a post 4 engine does.

I may look into re-routing the exhaust as well. We'll see how it goes in a few more days. I've got tractor work piling up. Feeling better and able to take deeper breaths again but still coughing up some blood tinged phlegm. Never experienced any issues my entire life on a non-emissions tractor. May be that the stink is just aggravating a new condition I'm not aware of yet but at least I now know I'm not the only one that thinks these newer tractors stink. Hell, I liked the smell of my old ones. LOL.

I really like having the slider rear window in my crew cab pickups but I close it in my 2018 GMC when I am in a little town with lots of stop signs or in stop and go traffic because too often I get a whiff of the DEF "enriched" exhaust. This is a constant feature of Tier IV and not the short term "cooking" odor you get during a DPF regen. My Deere 955 compact was built well before emissions requirements and I decided on a Kubtoa F2690 front mount mower a few years ago to stay below the 25 horse limit for Tier IV emissions. The only other diesel powered thing I have currently is my 40 KW standby generator and it is Tier IV exempt in that service. Its 3.3L Mitsu uses a road draft tube and the only emissions listed component is the turbocharger.

My 2001 GMC was the first generation Duramax and it had a road draft tube with the turbocharger listed as an emissions device and my 2006 with the LBZ engine generation was the last pre-DPF Duramax. My 2018 L5P may end up getting deleted if the emissions parts become an issue because that year still used the true Allison designed/built 6 speed instead of the Allison branded (but GM/Ford designed and produced) 10 speed problem child so I plan to keep my 2018 for a long time.
