Who? Not me, you don't really understand what I say. When I posted I had just returned from purchasing 5 gallons of 93 E0 for the dirtbike. I know of what I speak. You’ll have to forgive him. He’s a bit “anti-gas”.
I jumped in on the electric blower, chainsaw and weed wacker eagerly, thinking they would replace the Stihl gas pieces I previously run.
Fast forward to today and I am once again back to my Stihl gas blower, Stihl gas weed walkers and never really left my Stihl & makita gas chainsaws.
The electric tools are all 60V DeWalt. Nothing wrong with them. They all work fine, but after running both in a commercial business for 2+ years, I really only use the electric weed wacker periodically for light jobs I know will be done in under 15 minutes.
Not disappointed, just have found gas revs higher & keeps running when far away from the truck for hours on a full tank. Gas chainsaws are screamers and will cut circles around the electric. Electric only really good for quick 10 minute pruning jobs. Gas blower just keeps on running & running.
Anyone else try electric, go back to gas?
How much for an electric mower?I love my Ryobi 18V power tools for work around the garage and for light projects. Purchased the 18V blower and weed wacker as well as a 48V 52" Zero Turn riding Mower.
The blower is weak, so we pretty much just use it to blow dust off of the porch and out of the garage.
The weed wacker caught on fire and melted into a glob before I saw the smoke and pulled the battery.
The mower was used for a summer and a half and now sits in my garage like a $6,000 reminder to NEVER EVER buy an electric mower again. It doesn't have a mowing range anywhere near what is advertised, shuts off when hot (I live in Arizona so that is pretty much the entire summer lawn season), and it takes quite a few hours to recharge before you can get out and try to finish a simple yard. Its for sale if you like a challenge
I went and purchased a new Husqvarna 52" zero turn gas mower and have been smiling ever since. I'm now pimping it out with LED lights on all 4 sides so I can mow right through the night if I want to.
I tried the electric thing.......its basically a pet rock fad until the batteries get a lot stronger and more durable.
**** I do have a 12" 18V Ryobi saw which burns through batteries FAST but cuts Mesquite wood a lot better than expected*** If it wasn't for the saw and the hand tools, I'd scrap Ryobi and move on to a new line. Get good gas equipment for outside work and be happy.
