Anyone have a solar generator?

I have a blueeddi 2400 watt solar generator. It's fantastic.

I use it at my cabin.

That sounds perfect for your cabin. I wish they made affordable units for whole house use that could last through our long and frequent outages, which usually happen in the winter when solar production is low.

Don't know how it works in the US but here if the power from the grid fails the solar stops too, the inverter uses the grid as a reference to get the ac running the same and is also a safety feature so you don't fry linesmen who have cut the power to undertake maintenance work.

That's how "grid tied" units work. No grid, no solar power. The vast majority of solar installs in the US work the same way. The grid is your battery, which is simple and easy until a wire goes down.

We are considering a 15kw battery coupled to 10kw of panels, cost is about $23k and are guaranteed for 10 years, 15kw should enable us to run everything normally and still receive some income for infeed to the grid.
There are quite a few batteries apart from tesla now so it is competitive.

what is your cost per kilowatt hour. here i pay $0.06/KWH. our power bills are in the neighborhood of $75 to $100 (winter). my problem is a system like that woul never pay for itself. now if someone was paying $0.45/KWH (like my brother) than i guess i could see it

I just learned about solar generators the other day. They are basically solar panels with an inverter and a lithium battery. I haven't found any big enough to run a whole house, but I just want one to run a few things, including my c-pap at night. It hasn't happened where we live, but we know people who have had power outages for days in their areas, and obviously, gas stations were out of power too, so they couldn't get gas for their generators. So...solar generators sound like they may be a good thing, and I wondered if anyone on TBN had one.
ive read up on them. to me there more like a thing to use for camping. they can only charge in daylight. if you have power out at night, im not sure how long you can keep power up at night. it all depends on the load. me personally, im spoiled. i like my entire house to operate. but im just a lazy old man.

35c plus a $1.50 a day supply charge, I have done my homework and it will be cheaper, we also get a 12c infeed, the offpeak is useless as we don't get to use it so we will put in another heat pump hot water service that will run off the panels during the day.
We dropped our bills from $1000 a quarter to under $200 at the last place with a 4.5kw system, I would like to have $0.
