We have the shock preload also on mid notch. I didn't notice bottoming though. I will check it tomorrow by hitting few bumps.

Cant say I have ever noticed that on mine - it is fairly smooth throughout the entire range and at slow speeds I never noticed any of the shocks bottoming out. May want to give your preload a turn and see if that helps, if not something has to be wrong.

Front shocks rebound question:
My front shocks are bottoming out on rebound after crossing a small bump at maybe 5mph at certain angles.
Now, compression works real smooth. Is this normal for these shocks? It feels like a bump while going up hill with nothing under the front wheel. For reference I also have them set at the halfway notch.

I tried some rougher terrain and bumps yesterday. Didn't notice bottoming on either side of the shock stroke.

Another way to duplicate what it's doing is to grab the end of front bumper and pull up quickly. Mine has a very noticeable "thud" when it reaches full extension.

I tried this test and no thud. Actually I can't lift hard enough to hit the stop. I haven't moved mine from how it was set up from the factory because the ride is so smooth. Like Redneck, I don't get any bottoming on either stroke. Hope you get it sorted out!

I just returned from the garage. Tried to lift the front. I was able to lift it about 8-10" no thud. My guess is there is something lose or flexing making the noise.

I'm coming up on my first oil change and I ordered a rubber plug from Kawasaki that will make oil changes much easier. The part cost $8 and the part number is in the attachment. Here's what you need to do to install it.

Did the same thing after my last oil change. Worth every dollar!!!!

Double checked the Mule FXT - also can't lift it high enough for a thud so I want out and crossed the driveway ditch at different angles at slower speeds and no issues at all.

As someone mentioned already, has the same Chery 812 engine as the Gator. Yep, a Chinese motor but, a very very well-built one. Has forged rods, an enamel painted INSIDE the block, and is absolutely a beast of an 800. Bullet-proof, if you do normal maintenance the same as ANY engine. So what puts this engine above the 800 class engines of say, Polaris or any other manufacturer of Utility sidexsides?...it's a car-engine! It's used in several vehicles around the world, and that's true for a reason. It's advanced in technology and longevity. If every pictures tells a story, then look at this one: Kawasaki has a plethora of house engines to use, yet in a flag-ship model, they chose THAT motor over their own. It's built like a nascar engine! Other side x sides are getting ATV/Lawn-mower engines...your mule is getting a car engine! Should be just about enough to take care of the engine questions, anyway. As far as the rest of the machine...Kawasaki is a great company, so I'd bet it's gonna be great for you.

Recall:
I heard the fuel pump has a problem. I really dread taking a new machine back to the dealership for any reason.
