Not to hijack but this seems to go with the subject...
In Hooksett, I went in for a tractor plate for my kubota, they made me put on Construction Equipment plate as they claimed anything with a backhoe on it is considered "Construction Equipment"..(they called the NH-DMV in front of me).....
I mentioned that the backhoe was only an attachment and it would not be on during the plow season (when I need a plate).....Their response after I showed them the invoice was, "Doesn't matter, you bought it new with the backhoe".....
If I could have shown them an invoice with just tractor/fel then they would have given me tractor plate......:confused2:
My Case 580 is registered as a farm tractor as I have a farm (although it's 150 miles from my Case) and it's not used commercially. If you're plowing off your own property the tractor's commercial (construction) whether backhoe is installed or not. Also whether you "bought new" with or without the backhoe is irrelevant, take them a picture without the backhoe or request the police do a VIN verification without the backhoe. Just because they called DMV doesn't prove intelligence on either end. Truth is their way gets them more money. MikeD74T
