HELLO ???? Did you NOT see Al Gore's movie ?? :p :p :p

No, but I read the British Governments factual corrections to the movie that BY LAW must be brought out before playing it in British schools. They have laws that only factual things be shown to their students. Sort of wierd....

If you delete the non-factual parts of the movie all you get is the opening roll and the closing credits.

We watched NOVA today on the car of the future. One "scientist" stated that cars are only 1% efficient at converting fuel energy into motion. But also later stated that in the past 10 years engines have become 3x more efficient. Give me a break! What a crock of huey!

Small fact - every time "efficiency" is increased guess what happens to consumption? It goes up and it goes up at a FASTER rate than the increase in efficiency.

Errrrr must talk about tractors, must talk about tractors...

Lunk - thanks for the Baraboo link!

There is a dealer here in NW Georgia that had about 12 of them on his lot, at least some with dump beds, last time I drove by. Last year he told me they ran around $5K. I even saw one driving around town and was surprised that it was street legal. If anyone is serious I’ll chase down a name and number for you.

If its plated he LIED and could be facing serious bills...

The moderators will throw people off the Japanese mini-truck forum for discussing how to try and make them legal, because they are supposed to have a lockout welded in place so that you only have access to 1st gear and reverse and the max speed limited to 25 mph and not used on the highway...though here in VT we can run them on the highway between farm sections...but they are just like a tractor...NO TAGS and a BIG SMV symbol!!!...

Have a guy who sells them here in a town of only 3,000 pop. Usually has 3 or 4 sitting on an abandoned gas station. I gave them a once over last year. Cute, probably somewhat practicalon a truck garden/farm or the like. I didn't like the cheap looking bed. didn't look sturdy enough for hauling heavy or 'pointy' objects. Also didn't like hte price. $7k area for used ones. I was surprised to see the other prices quoted in the thread.

I looked into selling them when the grey market tractor market went bust around here. ( the Chinese tractors fixed that ) They are pretty cool. As far as importing, who is going to get the bad ones out of the lot? Just like the grey tractors, there is always a few that need body work, starter, tires, something. You can't just start them up and drive them home. Like I told people that wanted to short cut the tractors, if it was that easy there would be someone doing it on every corner. You will earn your $1000-$2000 you save. You could mow your neighbors yards for a summer and be better off. OH!! No I didn't start selling them.

There is a small garage near the TSC in Bennington that has one with a plate. I should stop and ask how they did it.
For some reason, I would feel too vunerable in one of those on-road but, I have two motorcycles.

Just bought one last weekend for 5212. Mits. 4x4 4 speed manual trans, had the atv tires and a 2 inch lift kit. It is basically like a ranger but has windows, heater, radio, and a bigger bed. Mine had 49000 kilometers on it. I have drove it to work for the last two days driving on dirt roads. Farmers around here use them as an implement of husbandry. I have really liked it so far.
