I think if this were my situation, I would un plug the switch from the harness.
And use a meter to verify continuity through the switch in each setting it is capable of.
On a "neutral safety switch" I would presume in neutral you would have contact.
Not in neutral there would be no completed circuit.
This info should help your service provider help you decide if that switch or something else
needs attention........
But then I am only guessing............
