Anyone know the max rpms of a 17 hp Briggs Opposed Twin engine?

i RAN INTO THIS ON A REPLACEMENT PUMP 40 YEARS AGO, turned out it was low rpm, so I put a smaller pully on the pump and cured the problem.

Well guys. I got my pump working right this time. I was moving my bag around that the seal kit came in and I noticed that there were 4 o rings hiding in there. Why I didn't see them there. I haven't a clue.

They were the ones that slid over the shafts. One on each side of the 2 shafts. They were used to seal between the needle bearing's.

Once I put those in. The pump developed full pressure. :thumbsup: So now I don't have to buy another pump.

I sure wished those kits would come with instructions for noobs like me. :laughing: It would have saved me a lot of grief.

Now the backhoe breaks through the ground like it's nothing. :thumbsup:

That sure saves me about $138.00 on a new pump.
