History: My Dad worked on the NY Central. His Dad was an engineer on the NY Central and killed when his locomotive suffered a boiler explosion.
This the "famous" Pere Marquette 1225. (converted to oil burner). Ran a trip from Durand to Owosso? as I recall in 1999. Never seen so many grown men shake at the fury of the steam drivers bouncing at road speed. They still cook her out when they can affort the insurance and track rental.
