Anyone live near a solar Farm?

Shards/UF Health hospital in Gainesville has some solar EV car port type things. Ive long said certain businesses could use this kinda thing to attract employees in high demand fields. I did search the brand of solar "umbrella" looking thing, with dual EV chargers, and i think it was roughly $78k, before the drilled shaft foundation/installation. So, probably around $95-100k per dual station. That's expensive; but at $50k per spot, over 10 years; that might be worth the cost to attract employees, for them.

Edit: these might be at the VA, or the Brain Institute, (UF/Shands) its hard to tell, right next to each other.

California aqueduct is 705 miles long; if we figure its right of way at, 40 ft wide; we end up at 3420 acres. You top that will panels; you have both energy, but also prevent evaporation. I assume it has access roads, for maintenance?

Reading just a few seconds, its min 40 ft wide (the canal, not the row), and in areas, as wide as 110 ft; so, likely the ROW (or easements, not sure on that), is likely 200 ft.

Although, a square or rectangular is probably more efficient to build

Aqueducts covered with solar panels is being done other places already, and has been shown to have a significant savings in reducing water losses.

It's being talked about for California aqueducts. Time will tell.

I love to see them in parking lots as it keeps my car cool. I've seen a couple being constructed, and boy is it quick. Large bore hole, add the support shaft, pump in concrete, come back the next day and crane over the laterals, and the panel assemblies. Wire the assemblies to the ground wiring and it's done. It makes residential PV look like a bunch of slow pokes (which they aren't, just that residential is labor intensive, as it is very much not cookie cutter).
