Anyone make a one man FEL lift?

/ Anyone make a one man FEL lift? #51
I am certain, that I wouldn't be able to get out of a basket with a rope. I have gone up on a roof with a ladder and had a hard time getting back on the ladder!

I did battery and air filter maintenance on our JD last week. For the first time, I tried using the loader hold-up channel, that my Kubota came with, and it worked and fit perfectly. For years, it never bothered me much to work on the raised loader. Sometimes I would prop it up with a timber or something.

Ladder to roof ... not too bad.

Roof to ladder? Derned near impossible for me.

Agreed. Seems like it should be the same, but not!!

The ladder has to extend a good distance up over the edge for me. Otherwise the thought of going asss over tea kettle is just too much. I have slipped and fallen enough and always was amazed at the speed of fall and impact. I can't imagine falling from any height!

My Harley rake looses position for years already. It's a lot of force on a very small (almost tiny) cylinder.

Added it this weekend. much better. If still will move every once in awhile, but not much. Some areas were still a little wet. 20190609_163753.jpg

My cylinder seems too small for the machine. It hasn't been enough of a problem to correct it. I just realize it is not quite, usually at the end, and make the correction. I would be much more interested in figuring out a way to angle the machine laterally. Not really possible with a tilt cylinder on the lift arm as it has trailing wheels.

BTW, I have torn the angle cylinder mounts off a few times, getting caught on an immoveable object. So, I also figured, if it can move a bit, maybe all the better.

My is too small too. Have to lift it up usually to get it to move all the way. Valve helped because it locked the fluid in the cylinder.

My rear wheels are adjustable so I could angle it if I wanted too by changing the height of one of them. Not sure how to do that on yours without some cutting.

I thought about that, but what happens then to your two lift arms? I mean, the rake has no articulation point, it's solid. You would almost have to raise one lift arm, and lower the rear trailing wheel.

When I saw that rake at an auction, I didn't even know what it was, but it was complicated enough to know, I had to have it! It would not have taken Glenmac (At the Time), much to add yet another axis and cylinder for tilt. Shame!
