One thing I have noticed that saves LS a few pennies is that NH has valve stem guards on their wheels while LS does not.

Over all,
Boomer, more money given more options. Base tractor more than option loaded LS. Boomer has blue seat. Depending how long you can wait, you can pick and choose options.

LS, less money more options than compared too Boomer. LS has gray seat. Most all LS I looked at just had all options they offered on the machines.

IIRC, the boomer has a working speedometer in the instrument cluster. In the LS cluster, there is a speedometer but is 'not used'. I would have traded the standard draft control for a speedometer in the LS.

I would rather have draft control than a speedometer. It is certainly a more expensive feature than a speedometer. If ground speed is important to you, get a cheap GPS unit. I have seen them for $100 on Amazon. There may even be an app for your cell phone.

Paint and decals.... just sayin'... o_O

on a more serious note, the loaders are from different manufacturers.

Yep. Loaders are vastly different. Other than that, same tractor. Maybe a different color, different decals, but same tractor. I get NH Boomer parts for my LS all the time. Had to educate the NH Dealer parts guy on the differences between my LS and 'his' Boomer41. I also had to figure out the differences between the loaders, specifically how they bolt to the tractor, when I purchased a sub-frame mount for my BH. Woods makes mounts for a NH, not for an LS. 95% of the mount bolted right up. The missing 5% was for the loader.

Speedometer? Tractors have speedometers?? Who woulda thought?!
I certainly dont miss having one, then again, I've never had a tractor with one. Had one on a few combines, but that was rather important, knowing the difference between 1mph and 2mph meant not leaving peas in the field.

When I bought my boomer mid pto was standard on NH, dealer installed option on LS. My local NH dealer has been great for service including pickup and delivery for warranty work. Dealer might be a factor in your decision?

Would Boomer wheel rims (R4) fit the XR4140?

No speedometer on the Boomer.

There are differences some small, some more convenient, and some larger.

Paint
Loader and subframe
Wheels
Yellow zinc fasteners
Hood release is on the left side of hood
Front work lights are angled
Mid pto standard
Draft control optional
Greater parts network and availability
Rear drawbar chain loop
Mid SCV ports are different
Cab interior is lighter color
OBD port is different

Many more if I think about it but this has been discussed in posts already in LS and New Holland.

Locally, New Holland prices are not much different than the local LS dealer and it's not thousands of dollars difference.

There was at one time cash spread of 3-5K between the NH and LS. The LS was less expensive. If it’s closer now that might explain why NH has less dealers forcing LS to give deeper discounts to keep NH in compact tractor segment. They were threatening to exit compact tractor business in early 2020. Does anyone know any further details. No doubt the NH FEL provides better visibility to the operator if it’s equal cash now. That is nice loader on the NH unit no argument on this.

I just bought an LS and the dealer said they make similar for NH and somebody else....forgot who....said expect to spend a couple K more for the different badges.....so it wasn't your model, but if they did my model then there is a possibility they did for yours too!
