When I got married my father took me aside and said "Son, just remember, there are three things that you lose as you age. The first one is your memory................................................................................................................and I can't remember the other two".

I'm real careful now to look at my hand before I scratch my head so I don't hit myself with a tool or sharp object....learned that after waking up in the yard with my wife and dog looking down at me. :confused2:

Kidding! It was just the dog looking down at me...

Oh come on now....what if you forget where your fanny is.

also, you'd constantly be going around saying.... "Jeff, does this make my butt look big"

That is a good post:laughing::cool2:

Seriously, have you considered wearing a "Fanny Pack"

Strangely enough I bought a Fanny pack for the gym (cardiac rehab) I need my glasses for the combo lock, beads to count the laps around the track and something else......... oh ya a cell phone that is disconnected that I use as a stopwatch. I was going back and forth to the car to get stuff till I got the gadget now all I have to do is remember to bring it, lol.

I suffer all the time from CRS.
I only find what I was looking for after I've bought another one.

I now have three different socket sets, go figure. At least I am not alone:laughing::thumbsup:

In Missouri, you have to have a CCW to carry on your own property though not in a dwelling or business you own and I spend a lot of time up in our woods or out in the fields on our farms and kind of like to have one handy; probably just paranoid.

No, not paranoid!!! It is good these days to have insurance for most reasonable possibilities. The world we live in is not becoming a kinder gentler place over time. Be an optimistic realist, hope for the best but be prepared to deal with reality.

I am finding that finding things are not what they use to be, lol, stopped in on a cousin for tea and in the twenty minute time it took for the tea and me to get on my way again, I misplaced my keys and glasses, go figure, took as much time to find the items as it did for the cup of tea. Hey if you need glasses to see the image click on it to enlarge.

Nah, not me. ;)

Conversation between my wife and me earlier this morning:

Me: Where's my coffee . . . I can't find my coffee . . . I just had it . . . What did I do with it?
Wife: It's in the bathroom.
Me: What's it doing in the bathroom? . . . Why did I put it in there?

BTW: I've heard it just gets worse. :D

Oh all the time!

Yesterday I went to give the hamsters some food, and spent 10 minutes walking around the room to try and find the bag, only to see it was right next to the cage!

Keys - I lose keys all the time.

The thing I lose the most though, is valve caps!

Quite a few times I've taken them off, inflated the tyres, then started looking around to find them, only to see that I put them back on again but forgot.

Numbers have effected me the most. I will go look up torque specs and get front wheel, rear wheel and tire pressure. Go outside and stand next to the tractor wandering where I left off let alone the numbers after I remember.
(Dont get me started on cellphone program changes)

When I put something away I say to myself That's a good place for that. 6 months later when I need it I can't remember where I put it. I know I put it where I wouldn't forget but I did anyway. Maybe that's why I end up with duplicates of my tools. I only find what I was looking for after I've bought another one.

Been there done that too many times. But the best one was when a friend called wanting the phone number of one of our friends. I told him the number was in my phone and as soon as I can find I will look it up.:confused2:

Phones - I lose them too.

Many times it has turned up in the car even though I can't remember taking it out of the house...

I also recall losing a CRT computer monitor a few years ago. I know, a massive CRT monitor! Who could lose one of those!? Me apparently...

I'm the same.

I only just started to remember my cell phone number off by heart a few months ago - I've had the phone for 4 years!!

That is soo funny true. My wife has had it in for me about that for years when I am ask my number by sales clerk and I refer to her to reply. I always say "I never call myself" (except when trying to find my phone). Problem is I speed dial her so I do not remember hers either, a real problem when I abscent minded leave without cellphone and then look stupid borrowing a phone to call and making an excuse "she is probably in the shower):confused2:

My wife has a habit of losing (misplacing) her car keys and our cordless phones. She will come in the house from work and maybe an hour later decide to run to the store. Sometimes takes her 20 minutes to find her keys. As far as the phones, I started with 3 and I'm down to 1. Can't find the other 2 since the batteries has since gone dead so they won't beep when hitting the page button on the base phone.

OK I just bit the bullet and bought tri-focal glasses, I couldn't find the prescription they gave me two months ago so I had to pay $5 for a reprint, lol. The safety glasses and regular styled tri-focals with a thirty percent discount came to $800. I think $ 800 because I forgot my reading glasses when I went to the store to get the prescription filled, lol. Perhaps I wont forget them if they are always on my nose. My brother who is 6 years older says just wait:laughing:

I always write a grocery list but usually go to the store, forget to look at the list, and come home minus some items. :(

Went grocery shopping today. Remembered to take the list FROM MY LAST TRIP with me. But didn't look at it and naturally forgot many items.

Could not remember my Pin # at all and wound up charging everything. Works the same, just can't get any cash back.

Stopped at the welding store, picked up some rod and a propane tip for the cutting torch. I always put my keys in my pocket. Nope left them in the switch this time. :confused2:

Generally speaking I have a pretty good memory (except for names & almost anything my wife asks me to remember  ) but last week coming out of Lowe's I couldn't find my keys. They were still in the switch with the engine running . MikeD74t
