Anyone try to buy a trailer lately?

Problem with craigslist at least locally is there were plenty of adds for trailers just none of them had stock, place yer order and wait was the reply from each and everyone I contacted when looking for one.

This is the only tractor I have for now.

Man, I bet it takes a while to get the back 40 plowed.

i just checked craigslist spokane. they have lots of trailers for sale, but the prices seem higher.

When you look at dealer websites in MY area, they show pictures of lots of trailers, but when you call, they say its “out of stock”.
Seems like an awful way of making potential customers call your trailer store all day long and have salespeople telling them “sorry, out of stock”.

I just bought a 18' 10K Gatormade GT-XT yesterday. Found a small local dealer with one left from February. It was $800 cheaper than picking one up at Gatormade's factory in Somerset, KY. And saved me almost 2 hours of drive.

But most dealers around here real low on inventory, and even taking deposits on trailers they advertise as "arriving soon."

Broke the new trailer in on Saturday. Picked up my 8' rotary cutter from the shop (One year old- trashed gear box replaced under warranty) and took my 7' box blade back to the farm. I had the shop load the cutter, and I loaded the box blade at home. Should have had the cutter a little more to the rear of the trailer, as I had more tongue weight than I would have liked, but the trailer tracks well. 90 miles one-way. Empty weight of this trailer is just over 2,000#, so that leaves me 8,000# for payload. Truck towing capacity is 9,400#. Should be a perfect match for what I haul with this trailer and truck.

My coworker bought a woodland Mills stump grinder and I think right now he has an August expected delivery date, and it keeps getting pushed back.

Another disappearing aspect of trailers: Paint colors.
Appalachian will no longer provide any color other than BLACK.
Kaufman is considering eliminating colors and has sharply increased optional color costs.
Too bad-I like me a RED trailer

Never had anything but a black trailer but I like the option of colors.
