Does anyone have information on the JD auto hitch? Suppose to make hooking on a pto easier. Anyone use one? Saw one on craigslist with I-match for $350 (looks new). Is it worth it? I don't have any John deere attachments but have JD 3720.

I have only seen the video on JD's site and on RFD TV, it looked cumbersome and fragile to me. There are also only a select few implements it will work on.

I suspect the owner wants to unload it...

I seen a video on here a couple months ago.

I called a JD dealer to get a price on the I-Match & the auto-hitch.

The I-match was $299 and I think the auto-hitch was about $700

The auto hitch is actually owned by a dealer and I believe is new. I suspect they just want to unload it. It looked very dusty in the picture and probably sitting for some time. Does the attachment side need to be used only on JD equipment? The unit comes with I match, tractor component and 1 attachment component. Price seems very good but still not sure if I want it.

I am pretty sure it will only fit some Frontier stuff with serious modification.

AutoHitch, there is a link at the bottom to a compatibility chart/\.

The imatch our local dealer ordered for us has 3 factory holes drilled in it for mounting the autohitch. Just wondering if all imatches have these holes or did the dealer just order the wrong part number.

I have sold 3 auto hitch setups. 2 for rotary cutters (rc1060 and rc2072) and on for a tiller (665). For rotary cutters it really does need to be a Frontier / Deere cutter for ease of conversion. On the Tiller side it is simply a slip clutch with a stub shaft that slides right onto the tiller (540 splines on tiller gear case) so would be simple to use another tiller assuming the gearcase is splined at 540. Have had good luck for the most part, the tiller setup is ran by many people in a commercial setting and they had one instance where did not pay attention when backing up and bent one of the linkage rods otherwise if not capable of installing a d-line yourself it really is a good system. All current I match hitches should have the holes in them now. Once installed the tractor side of the autohitch can be left on and still hook to regular attatchments like rear blade etc.

Does the attachment side require a separate shaft/attachment for each pto driven implement?

There are 3 different pieces to make a complete auto hitch.
1. I match hitch
2. tractor side auto hitch
3. imp side aut hitch

on the imp side there are currently 2 versions 1 for rotary cutters wich is a bolted assy that supports a stub shaft that stays on the cutter permanantly. On the tiller side is nothing more that a quick release slip clutch that can be removed with no tools.

I am beginning to think the auto hitch is not for me. I would want to use it on rotary mow, finish mower and tiller. All are non-JD. I don't think the auto hitch is worth the cost or effort to modify.

Reviving this old thread because I'm trying to get info on the Autohitch.

Are they still being sold new?

Did they die out?

The auto hitch is still being sold as I understand but I see you have several implements already that may not convert to the hitch. The tractor side should work with any brand, the implements need to be more specific. I think it is a viable way to go if you have the right implements and none that won't fit.
