Anyone use ice studs?

I wont be able to tell how they work until it snows again or when I start getting out firewood. The last snow storm all the front tire were doing was holden up the front end, so I'm assuming there will be a little more traction hopefully enough so I can steer the tractor without brakes, we'll see.

Thanks. This has been helpful. I have a front end snow blower on my Kubota L3560 and use that with a rear blade to clear a 1/4 mile driveway that is 3/4 hard pack and 1/4 Asphalt (when you get near the house). Even with good and tight chains on the back tires (farm treads), I get ice slide when heavy loads want to pull tractor to that sloped side. I read that front end chains, used in combination with rear chains (dealer also does not recommend) can cause axle damage and was looking to get an alternative in place. These studs in front farm tires sound like it. I will need to remove when it warms up to avoid asphalt damage. The rear chains are a real pain to put on and if these work on the front, I may switch over next season. Thanks for any input and again for the web site reference for the studs.

I put screws in the Gravely's R1 tires. Didn't really get a chance to try them out.

Some on here reported they've put screws in racing motorcycle tires.
