*rubs chin* back dragging, with left and right rear steering brakes, and majority of time i try my best to keep the front wheels of tractor on ground and/or barely off ground. part of learning how to use a tractor with a FEL is back dragging. but you need those left and right rear steering brakes. to make things so much easier. since majority of the time you will loose steering from front wheels. knowing were and how to tilt the bucket, and being able to have enough experience, to adjust things on the fly while driving backwards. it is not an easy task to pick up, and does take some practice.

Boggen, my BX does not have the left-right braking system. So my learning curve may be longer. But I am encouraged by your comments, and feel a little less inept! :) So unlike many, I look forward to some snow, so I can practice!!

There is also the option of a rubber cutting edge on your blade or rigging a front blade with a rubber cutting edge for your loader. That may be less aggressive to your driveway material. What is a macadam driveway is it a cobblestone or brick drive or just fine stone laid in tar?

Thanks Blu, So I am using 'macadam' and 'asphalt' kind of inter-changeably. If that explains it. Mine is over 30 yrs old, and ideally would like to be resurfaced. But this is more or less the situation for my neighbors whom I help (and don't want to hurt their older drives either). Also one neighbor has a pristine resurfacing that I would not want to damage. One neighbor has a stone driveway that I don't want to push on to her lawn. So looking for solutions to not damage driveways or lawns, while I do what you know I must do....practice!! Is it snowing yet??!!

Sorry to bump this old thread. Anyone have a source on these? It seems their web site is now a sales place for viagra and similar products......

Not sure if they went out of business or were hacked or what.

They are vendors on Green Tractor Talk, you might have a shot communicating with them there. It looks like they haven't posted in six months and haven't visited the site in two. They may have gone belly up.

Came across this product in reviewing postings but I don't see much discussion about it, or its effectiveness here on TBN. My application is on an old macadam/asphalt driveway. The drive is uneven in places and broken up a bit down by the road. Also, I do have to push snow up over the lawn along the drive and parking area. What do you think? Thanks for your input!

I think Ratchet Rake has a plastic edge that looks to a better solution with their snow edge. I'll be buying one for this winter. Ratchet Rake, LLC - Rip and Dig, All Terrain Rake, Snow Edge, Tractor attachment, Bucket attachment, Loader, Skid loader, Kubota, Skid steer, Landscape rake, Brush remover, York Rake, Harley Rake, Rock Rake, Tractor rake attachment, Construction attachment, New Holland, Bobcat, Fire safety, Home fire safety, Fire prevention, John Deere, skid steer attachment, tractor implement

Folks with gravel drives run a piece of pipe across the bottom and some just put a piece of split plastic pipe on the edge of their buckets.

The site is back up now, they had some server/hosting troubles.
I used the Tamers last year, wow they really do a great job as advertised.

It is back up.... thanks. I kept checking back and back hoping it was a hack rather than them being out of business. Glad they got that sorted.

Well I ordered mine along with a set of edge extenders. We are allegedly set up for a lake effect winter wonderland this year. I will also now be pushing snow off of part of the lawn go allow the wife to get to the barn more easily.

Has anyone used these with their snowblowers? I have two driveways that have fresh gravel added to them this summer. Not all of it has been packed in yet, and hence the question. Hate to blow it all over the yards. Just wondering. Thanks, Jon
