Anyone using insulin for diabetes?

For the type 1 diabetics I feel for you. When I was drinking heavily and eating at night I was type 2 and was on metformin.

I guy at work ripped me for not listening to my doctor when doctor kept saying I needed to quit drinking.

I removed alcohol and potato chips and other unhealthy carbs at night.

I was at unsafe levels of type 2 diabetes over 200/300 at times. I did some damage to my veins in my legs that's probably irreparable.

I checked it a few days ago and it was 87 at night 84 in the morning.

I'm now slowly losing weight and I've lost about 30 lb since holidays.

My wife is using a couple of natural supplements that she said is helping her type 2. She was pre-diabetic in the 120s and checked hers the other day and it was 71.

I'll find out what she's taking and post it

That's what pork barrel politics will do for you. He's famous for it, then a bunch of whining on why it doesn't pass. Both parties are bad about it. Then they both wine, "they wouldn't pass it".

I have been insulin dependent for over 10 years now. Has it been a lifestyle change? Yes and no. Stay active physically, shed a few pounds, and lay off the sugar.
blood sugar testing is a simple. Procedure as is the injection protocol twice a day in my case. Interestingly after a short time, I found my love for sweets diminishEd and daily management of blood sugar levels still leaves roof for an adult beverage or two and a glass of red wine with dinner.

I agree that variety is good, but it should be variety to get the nutrients that the body needs. As I said, the virta program is monitored and is unique in that they actually have published 5 year studies on the patients following their program. That is why companies are covering the cost.

What I was surprised at before starting is that there is no one "Keto" diet. So the limited studies that exist have people that are doing various things and they will group them into broad categories. As you're post says - "The keto diet COULD". I looked into keto some once I figured out that is what virta used. Some places think the keto flu is just part getting adapting to keto.
