To all my friends here on TBN, I must apologize for my wayward absence. I have just been tied up trying to get two networks back on their feet. One is almost there, they other one has to be built back from scratch. Lost the System drive, and data drives on a standalone system while off playing around on disability. The backup tapes disappeared, and no backups taken since day of my going out on disability.....lovely. Nothing to build from.
At least, I am alive, well, and wishing ALL of YOU Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Scruffy,

There's no need to apologize. Hope your network problems get straightened out soon.

Hope your holidays are great, and that you have a healthy and happy new year.

Scruffy,
Good to see your voice again, and a very Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
P.S. Old age and treachery can overcome anything.

No apology necessary, but darned if I wasn't begining to worry about you; glad to hear it was because you were busy instead of sick. Merry Christmas to your family, too!

Good to hear from ya and just glad it's a work problem instead of a health problem.

Have a Merry Christmas

Hey, Look at it this way. You made it through another year and probably from Win98 to Win2000 only to look forward to Win XP! But you still have your family, health and TBN freinds to look forward to .

Merry Christmas.

Scruffy - It's good to hear from you again. Say, if those hard drives seriously bit the green weenie, it sounds like the fixin's for another magnetic cup! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I've made two for myself, and another for my mother-in-law, and I still have a couple of the magnets you sent me left over. Thanks again, and welcome back!

Wheeldog- Thank you, and we hope your holidays are the greatest!
Harv- Merry Christmas to your family too! Hope you get a little tractor time to play in the mud!
Al- We are! You take care also, and enjoy!!
Wally- LOL, I love your P.S.!
Bird, Gordon, Ronjhall- No need to worry, ya know I'm too onery for being anything else but OK! Merry Christmas to all three of you, and your families!
toddwolf- 2K, XP??? I thought you wished me a Merry Christmas!!! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
MarkC- Oh they bit the dust all right, just had to ship them back for rebuilds, and they'll be issued out to some other lucky government facility.
I just had a brand new 60gig drive take a dive Saturday, but it's going back to Western Digital on RMA. Got the word out that I am collecting dead drives (out of warrenty type) again. Need to build up the magnet supply again.
Glennmac- Thanks! Hope Santa brings you an anti 'get stuck' tractor for Christmas!
frank f15, CBDoc- Just work, family, and the combined obligations, and things are going great! Merry Christmas to both of you!
Cedarranch, TerryinMD- You know that is the joys of being in the 'management' group! You get to wear many hats, system admin/system analyst/network admin/system specialist and any other title that they can throw your direction that no one else is filling.
Well, I've accomplished more in the past month, than the two replacements did in the 9.5 months I was gone, and those two networks will be up and running full bore by the end of January! One is, but needs some software upgrades to complete its restoration to health. The other is down until the first one is done, then I am going to cheat and restore (from backups off the main system) the whole works. Lazy in my older age! Easier to modify an existing database than build totally from scratch.
