Many years ago we were down wind from a burnt out retirement home where a dozen or so elders were caught inside.

Spent a few years working near a funeral home/crematorium so I know a very similar smell better than I would like -- especially when the wind blew in a certain direction during the summer and the warehouse doors were open for better airflow.......
