It started to sleet here about 15 minutes ago - - even an occasional flurry. It's only 44 degrees, but still to danged cold. I heard it sleeted in New Orleans earlier this afternoon, too.

It's been sleeting off and on all afternoon and still. Just above freezing now... supposed to freeze tonight. I'm just North of Austin.

Monday April 2nd we had our boat out on the lake in t shirts and it was beautiful out highs around 80. Friday April 6th snow flurries and a freeze advisory for our area low of 18. I wish I had looked at the forecast before I got the boat out and dewinterized it. I have a heat lamp in the engine compartment hoping it does not freeze the block.

Bell County, (Central) Texas had a pretty interesting day before Easter, 7 April 2007. Take a look at the pics for proof positive.
Pic 1 shows the temperature at 9:59 AM.
Pic 2 temperature at 2:00 PM.

We lost power 6 times through the night. The longest power outage was from 9:30 PM till 12:30 AM.
When I woke up this morning the temperature was still a chilly 38 degrees. We had 1 to 1.5 inches of accumulation.
I would say that this is proof positive that global warming is a myth. Algore needs to come up with more than anguish, theory and speculation to get me to believe there is anything to his Barbara Streisand.

Great pictures!!! The one with the snow covering the ground is what we were hoping for. That's a really nice picture.

Setting political issues aside (both sides), global warming is the cause, CLIMATE CHANGE is the effect. I think we will all be seeing the results of climate change for many many years.mjarrels said:

Got nuthin but sunshine here today but I was hopeing for the snow to continue yesterday so we could have the first ever snow out for a baseball game in Texas. jb

I think all we've had so far is a light wintry mix for about 10 minutes. I got my row cover over my tomatoes and peppers or I'd have a foot of snow for sure.
It's funny that it snowed hard south of Dallas, but up here we have been pretty dry so far. I don't think it's been as cold as predicted either.

Happy Easter to Everyone,
Eddie the pics with the kids with their mouths open trying to get snow flakes is precious. Well it certainly did provide exciement to those of you not used to snow, ice and sleet.
we went to my husban's sisters for Easter today. it was partly overcast around noon but by 1pm the sun was shining and we ate outside as usual.
In Wiscinsin I still remembe the blizard we got in May 1975. That is why my dad never planted anything until after Memorial day. jinman you were really thinking to get your tomatoes covered.
