AR Rifles..

Roy, the one .22 LR AR I saw and shot seemed so crude compared to many AR-15s that cost about the same. Pretty sure Johnny's was a Smith & 'Winegarden'. The boy brought along a very basic Ruger AR-15 that we high-fived about and agreed made the .22 Smith version look like a Daisy or Crosman. That said, the one S&W AR-15 I saw (didn't get to shoot ) was as nice as J's Ruger. I'd hate to have to chose between those two.

I wonder just how hard .. would it be .. for somebody to offer a .22 Mag AR, .. or am I missing something obvious.

Don't think some members of Congress give a **** about "...shall not infringe" no matter who it hurts

Did they take any of your guns away? did they attempt to take any of your guns away?...sure they can make it harder to acquire certain types of firearms...but they are NOT going to try to take any of your firearms away AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED A THREAT etc..or before too long...if someone has been prescribed certain medications or treated for certain types of "mental stress" etc. disorders...those records will be cross referenced with both old and new background check databases...i.e,...people that meet certain criteria may be asked (required) to give up certain types of firearms...

All it's going to take is something similar to the way 'obama care' was railroaded through a liberally controlled congress in the middle of the night...and if someone has been prescribed something as benign as Xanax and has ever had a background check for certain types of firearms...they might be getting a letter...!

The definition of "threat" will depend upon who you elect.

If 1/2 the country is already considered to be racist deplorables, requiring the other half to change their panties in a "safe space", you can bet that will qualify as a "threat."

Red Flag laws are a major step in accepting unconstitutional "prior restraint" actions by an oppressive government.

All that President Trump has done is forestall it, just as Maine's previous governor postponed the inevitable. We now have somebody who marches lockstep with California et.al.... and it was only a matter of months before she threw all of his work out the window. We're a poor state except for the southern tip; yet that's who dictates how we spend our money.

The problem with the voters in this state is most of the population is Portland south otherwise the state of Maine would be a GOP state.. I call south of Augusta, Massachusetts..

Even though I have two AR's and what I call a politically correct AK47 (only have a 10 round mag for the AK). I have 20 round clips for both the AR 15s. One is Muddy Girl pink that I bought for my wife. Also have 5 round magazines which are much better at the range on sand bags. Never used the 20 round clips just have them.

I don't like sporting rifles like AR's for the most part. I bought them back in the Obama days when he got his panties in a wad over guns and drove gun prices out the roof and everybody and their dog bought them and every bit of ammo they could afford. I've shot them a time or two. The pink AR has never been shot.

I sure has heck don't like bump stocks and I am a gun guy.

This country is getting crazier everyday. I think everybody of sound mind should have a hand gun or two, a shot gun or two at a minimum. And there is nothing wrong with having a rifle like an AR or AK in your gun safe with some ammo just in case.

I prefer bolt action hunting rifles over sporting rifles.

With all that said, way to many crazy people in this world that will somehow get their hands on something to cause harm. After the Boston bombing, I was sure pressure cookers would be banned.

Our society is far to easy on people that are off in the rocker as my mother used to say. All these experts want them to be part of normal people. With that said, it really hard to tell who is going to go off the deep end. Along with the fact this country is full of guns and the old saying sticks, if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

I'm just a realist...and in reality it is mostly going to come down to what they already control...like prescription drugs and background checks...if someone has been treated with certain medications they may be denied the right to purchase certain firearms...based on the medications and what they are typically prescribed for...
