The safety detent is under the grip on the AR15 as well. And yes you need to install the safety before you tighten the set screws. You do not need the tool. The castle nut will not need to come off. If you have anti walk or anti roll pins you do not need to tighten the set screws. That is the main reason for them. To put pressure on the pins. But I still do just to be sure it won't move.

You’re correct. My bad. The takedown pin detent is behind the end plate on the AR15. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on the smaller frame stuff just took a look at a stripped one I have.

So just the grip has to come off to remove the spring and detent for the safety.

Had the pleasure of learning a little about this 'Corner Shot Pistol System' so it is called. I was at a Chinese military exhibition in Zhuhai, China last November and spy'd this beauty. Look close. LED display.

I am curious how that works.

They work pretty well. The Israelies developed one some time ago. It was based on a Glock as the "active element". Nothing more than a pistol on a hinge with a camera you stick around a corner, You stay in the clear around the edge of the corner, and aim the pistol with the assistance of the LCD monitor. Beats the heck out of the old German Krummlauf adaptor for the MP43/44 back in 1945. The one Dragoneggs has shown, may be of Chinese origin. . Heck anyone could make one with the proliferation of cheap cameras and monitors. You could order anything you need off of Amazon.

Leave it to the Chinese to make a direct copy of the Cornershot and claim it is "new".

I really didn't expect to see a side shooting gun a first for me, some good post here. Guess that woman knows her guns, brought out some good points like the safety switch, LED screen and sun not good and that noise the gun makes when switching to side ways<<< that's not good for police work or army in tight door to door combat, but wow shoot around corners and accurately to........

I got my build kit today and without knowing what I'm doing had it mostly together less than 2 hours after signing for it. The only thing holding me up is putting the grip on... somehow I don't have the right allen wrench for the job.

Krummlauf Curved Barrel on an StG-44....Not sure, but a fella named Rube Goldberg may have had a hand in development. :)

I had a shotgun like that once; a result of the only time I was stupid enough to loan a firearm. He was carrying it in the orchard where we'd been seeing grouse and it fell under a rear tire of the Massey 175.

Watching the video makes me realize where "shooting sideways" came from.
