You proved my point Roy. You have the Federal government to thank for the fact that states can't ban guns.
Why isn't a M16 avaialable for the general public to buy?
Why isn't a M79 available for the general public to buy?
Why isn't a M60 available for the general public to buy?
Why isn't a TOW available for the general public to buy?
I'm not saying that some states don't have their head up their butts, but the line does have to be drawn somewhere and the feds have given that leeway to the states.
The bigger issue is the technology. One could argue that back in the 1700's, one man with guns could only kill the amount of people per the guns he carried. Now, one man can easily kill 50 people.
Many, many more I'm afraid. I have a good friend that is so proficient at shooting, it is scary. Hand gun, close quarter AR, or 1000 yard shooting, it doesn't matter. Last time he was at my range it was just me and him; I asked him how many people could he take out if he chose to like we see on the news, his reply... "hundreds... easily". So far we haven't had a proficient shooter, we have had amateurs.
