Are the buckets known to bend on Kubota loader?

I would not say they are known to bend. I have done a lot of stupid things with my old bucket and it had a few small bends but they were my fault. everything has limits and if enough leverage is added anything will bend. I have seen massive CAT buckets bent due to just catching something right.
if you overbuild them to much the lift of the loader will suffer and people will not be happy so there is a fine line between too heavy and heavy enough...
good luck

I will refer back to one of my posts in that since it appears you owned the tractor several months before you reported this problem, how is your dealer going to know when this happened and weather or not it was that way when it left his lot.

You stated it was dark when you looked at the tractor, again I am missing the point that it took months to notice this.

No tractor is warranted against wear and tear or dents, dings and bent stuff.

Anything I buy, new or used is gone over thoroughly at the time of delivery and if I find anything, it goes back on the truck or the dealer would be notified. If I miss something on a used tractor such as a wear item etc., then it's on me.

Perhaps I missed something.

As to Kubota buckets bending any easier than any others, again, no. We own several different brands and Kubota is as good as any.

I do sympathize with your situation, but to me at least that is oftentimes just one of those things associated with owning tractors.

No, Kubota buckets aren't known for bending, but again, as I said earlier, it isn't the heavy duty unit for the power you have in that tractor. Either you or the previous owner found out that the tractor has the power to allow the operator to use it in such a way that it gives.

I sincerely hope your dealer works with you on this. If he knows full well it was or was not buckled, or the delivery/prep guy knows full well it was or wasn't at the time of purchase, you'll straighten this out. Pun intended again.

Kubota offers different loaders for that tractor for a reason. As Code54 said, some buyers do not want the real heavy one, for good reason.

I believe there is a sticker on the standard bucket that says 'Light Material Bucket'.
I would expect this to mean it is a light duty bucket. Yes they bend easy. I have bent 2 of mine but I also did it knowing that the kind of force I was using was going to have consequences.
They also bent back easily too:thumbsup:

Whoever bent it might have been a member here, now that I think about it..

I remember one fella saying his way of uprooting trees was "takin' a good run at 'em with the bucket about 5 feet off the ground".

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, never mind a bent bucket.

Short version, nothing built by the hands of man is immune to their stupidity.

Two cents and change..

Seems to me that if it is THAT flimsy you should be able to just lay a few bits of 2 by and/or 4 by on the driveway, lower the bucket lip onto them, apply down pressure and bend it right back.

(
OTOH, if the tractor is too flimsy to press down hard enough on the bucket to get the front wheels off the ground... maybe you would be better off the get rid of the tractor AND it's flimsy bucket.

I have a month old L3400 with a LA524 loader. I used it to take out a good sized tree. I had to dig around the base of the tree some and pushe from several directions, but finally got that puppy down. As I was pushing with the bucket five or six feet high, I saw the lip flex quite a bit. But, when I sighted down the lip later, it was straight except for one small notch and I don't think that was done while I was working on the tree. I had a B7510 prior to the L3400 and I put that poor bucket through the works too and it is straight as an arrow. Bottom line; no issues here, but possibly, there is a lack of consistency in the tempering process.

You can fix it yourself. I bought the tractor used with the smiling bucket and it is straight now. I had it under heavy load since then and it is still good. My guess is that your tractor's bucket may have had the bend when you bought it you just didn't notice it before.

Edit: No you do not have to have two jacks but I didn't want to point-load the cutting edge. Notice the plywood between bucket and jacks as well.

The bucket on my loader was bent up in the middle from day one. Still bothers me today. I have tried to bend it back by lifting up on concrete, but it would not bend.

You can tack weld a piece of steel to the inner top edgeof the bucket and use that to give a square surface to jack against. The lip can be pushed back down that way. Simply cut the extra piece back out when you're done.
