Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Are the southern guys having any fun in the snow ????

We had very litttle snow in central Mississippi. We had a little freezing rain and sleet. Our house is surrounded by huge oak trees and so our big worry is ice on the trees. We had a light coat of ice on the trees but not enough to cause any problems.

I am a retired fair weather farmer. If it's too cold or too hot or too wet or too dry (dusty), You won't find me out there.

It is still all ice here in my part of Georgia...no point in going out on the roads ..snow and 1 inch of solid ice..2 trucks have gone by our house today..Schools closed yesterday and today and I am sure tomorrow and maybe the rest of the week since we are not supposed to get above freezing for more than a few hours until Saturday...Ugggg !

North of Cookeville Tenn, we have about 4 inches on the ground, and more coming down right now. Add that we had sleet and freezing temps last night and its a mess here! (Well, for the south at least.... My brother in law up in Michigan would be thrilled with "a little snow" like this)

I'm retired, so it just means working in the shop (heated, kinda) or inside enjoying our new wood stove today. Wouldn't want to be out driving in it though. Went up to the road yesterday to help a neighbor who had slid his car off the road and into a ditch and was stuck.

I have a Deere snow blower for one of the garden tractors - came with the tractor when I got it (used). I was gonna fix it up and sell/trade it for something I could use, but if we keep having this kind of weather, I might just hang on to it!!!

Had to leave the farm and head for town so i would be able to get to work.

Got anywhere fron 4" to 8" in central arkansas. Now its cold, supposed to be down around 10 degrees tonight.

Fun for me. :thumbsup: First time plowing with a makeshift plow. We had a little over 6" here.

This part of Kansas got 8 inches...the first snow this year. But it's the cold that's noticeable. It's been below zero the previous couple days with the wind blowing to give -20 wind chill. Last year we totaled 40 inches. That was my first experience at using the FEL to remove and stack snow. Mid Kansas and Missouri are "Border States" according to the Civil War era. I guess that applies to the weather also.
