are weber grills worth the money

I was the guy who bough the used grill at the yard sale and rebuilt it with a 30$ burner every 6 months....cause I was handy.
DON'T BE THAT GUY
I bought a Weber Genesis silver many years ago and I would not consider purchasing another grill.
I don't think they are made quite as robust now as the one I have but, the engineering is sound. It just works great.
I seriously doubt you will regret that purchase.

Full disclosure. I did not read all the posts.

With that stated I picked up a Weber Genesis A left out for the trash man 12 years ago. At that time it was already at least 10 years old. I put a regulator, flavor bars, and cast iron grates on it. (Less than $100). Been using it ever since. Recently bought another Weber because I needed a bigger, and second, grill for an annual cookout.

In the time I have had the "found" weber I have friends who went through 3 cheap grills. They spent more money than if they bought a weber the first time around.

Weber is definitely worth the money. If you like gas it also is a great grill to cook on.

I have used the Traeger pellet grill. Very nice if you are into smokers.

I've been grilling on Weber charcoal grills for 35+ years. I just finally let the bottom half of a Weber grill (that came from my parents) go to the curb only because I backed into it and ripped a leg/leg socket off. Kept the lid for use on a 55 gallon drum. We grill with charcoal year around utilizing the Weber Charcoal 'dome lid' grills.

Weber has a GREAT warranty department. A couple issues I had over the years were handled readily. (I currently have 5 Weber charcoal grill  .) My warranty expectations were far exceeded.

Going on 14 years with the Genesis model....never did a thing to it. Great gas grill, but if you want great BBQ go with hardwood charcoal.

We also got tired of cheap grills that you can't get parts for after a few years. We walked into an HHGregg one day in the Fall about 4 years ago and they had Weber Genesis E-310's for $450., they were being closed out for a model change, they moved the controls to the front the next season. My wife was looking at it and the manager walked by and said that's a good price, my wife says $400 sounds better. He stopped for a few seconds and said, "we can do that". The thing is super heavy, we took it out of the box one piece at a time. It's built like a tank. It's the most even grilling gas grill I've ever used, it doesn't seem to matter where you're grilling, center, edge, back or front it's all consistent. Never would have thought we find a new one for $400. I really like the cast-iron grids, treated them properly when new and they have never rusted. I done some marinated chicken breasts on it last night, oh they were so good, got them 165˚ in about 27 or 28 minutes on Low. if you want US made you'll need to avoid the Weber Spirit, it's made in China.

I have the genesis model with sideburner. Nice grill. Only problem I've had is the ignitor battery holder gets water in it & destroys the battery. I used to keep it covered, but the seams on the cover came apart. Now it sits outside. I use it yr round. I have an old charbroil still sitting on the deck, used to replace the burners about every 2 yrs.

I'm looking at the Genesis model myself, anyone own this one? $750 about right for the 310 model?

We have the Genesis without the side burner and which we bought in 2008ish love it.. As mentioned the the quality of the material is leaps and bounds above most other grills. Very even heating

buy once, cry once..

Yes, worth the money even if you don't want a large grill. Got myself a Weber Q320 grill, perfect size for my small family. Heats quick, easy to clean, nothing to rust, plastic stand, aluminium body, SS burner, great.

So it looks like the Genesis is a great grill and worth the money. The depot box store has the copper 310 model and I'm looking to see where they differ if any compared to the Hardware store 310 models, does anyone know?
