Are work lights "customization"?

/ Are work lights "customization"? #21
I've tried a lot of headlights over the years and while they may have changed by now, never worked for me. Headlights are in the wrong place for field work and cast shadows or are blocked by loaders, grill guards, etc. The same with lights pointing forward on the ROPS

I've found that adding light off the front weight bracket really lights things up for me. Low to the ground. Also lights higher up but aimed forward at an angle from the tractor works. Up high and pointed rearward works fine on the ROPS.

Here's an old pic of Stone Age lights on my lawnmower but you get the idea. I hooked hot to the battery, put an inline fuse and then toggle switches on the lights. That way I don't have to run a mess of wires and drill holes. I've done threads on this if you search for it.

Fine if you don't have a loader. About the only time I use my tractor after dark is to plow snow, and lights there aren't gonna help one bit.

On a B7500 years ago I mounted the lights on the part of the FEL frame that stayed on the tractor. That worked better than one would expect. The lights did hit the back of the bucket, but the only daqrk spot was behind the bucket (view blocked there anyway). The headlights were not effective at all. Maybe because they were too close to the bucket?
