Are you happy with your trash removal service?

I have Northern Illinois Disposal and they have been great. For a little background, I live on a gravel road- the main gravel road is in front of my house, but my driveway exits to a side gravel road and is about 120' from the main road. The county does not plow the side road, it is supposed to be done by a contractor, and at the time was doing a poor job. I get home in the late morning because I work 3rd shift and there had been a pretty good amount of snow overnight- the garbage man comes early. A couple years ago I got a call from the owner or manager and he had asked me if I wouldn't mind taking the garbage out to the main road (after large snowfalls) since the truck could not get down the side road (about 16" of snow on it). He had already came in his personal pickup to grab the garbage that the other driver could not (or would not), but asked nicely and professionally if I would be willing to do this. He had also called the one other house that is a few hundred yards back on this side road if they could bring the garbage down by my house, at least when there was a big storm. I thought this was a reasonable request, and thought it was great that he personally came and got the trash the truck left behind without me even knowing about it- it was before I even got home.

BTW, I pay $58 every 2 months, they come every week. They always take whatever I put out there, usually 3 wheeled cans, but sometimes "extras".

Very much so.
We put our trash in metal dumpster which the city collects and hauls to KS. You can put anything in the dumpster but for hazardous waste or stuff like 2x4's which seem to mess up the garbage truck in some way. What does not fit in the dumpster we haul to a roll off about the size of a box car. As long as you are not a contractor you can dump most anything including shingles. Again no tires or rocks.

We pay $35 an month and they also pickup and shred any trees we drag out to the curb. But when I turn the water on to my shop on the other side of the street I get the privilege of paying twice.

My trash service is by the county solid waste division. $45 for three months I provide the can, they take anything the fits in the can.

The only rub is, I have no choice! I pay or they add it to my tax bill.

I have a business and I used to just take it to work and put in dumpster I already pay for...not now.

I am happy that I can choose my own trash service where I live. Having a large family and alot of projects that create debris we have a 4 yd. dumpster also. It is awesome to not have to handle cans and worry about size or quantity. There is no way we could get by with the little cans, and several of the neighbors enjoy our service also.

I roll it out on Thursday evening, they pick it up on Friday morning, $56 for 3 months. I live a mile from a transfer station but for less than $20 a month I ain't messin' with it!
