Myself, I'm 46 so I'll be at it for another 15 yrs or so.
My occupation is refrigeration mostly, I maintain/repair refrigerated shipping containers for the port of Tacoma.

WOW! My family lives in Tacoma!!!! I visit evey 6 months. Wonderful area.

I work, will do so for another 20 years. Retire age 75

Hey all,
Dennis here from Lebanon, Maine 34 years old, still working. I am a diesel mechanic / shop foreman at a local shop where we sell trucks and trailers.

Retirement? Work? what's that? hahaha

I quite my job four years ago, sold my house and moved to Texas without any prospects other than a dream to have a better life. I'm 41 and work as a contractor. I can live and pay my bills for $600 a month, so it doesn't take much for me. Everything above that amount goes towards diesel, tractor repairs and land improvements.

One day my land will be work allot of money and I'll sell it for my retirement. Othewise, I'm just working towards my dream and having a great time.

I retired from the police department in January, 1989, (and my wife quite her job 9 months later). We were full time RVers for about 6 years, retired but we both worked an RV resort one summer in Virginia, I worked in my brother's tire dealership/garage in Anchorage one summer, and I traveled doing gas leakage surveys two years. Then we bought 10 acres in the country, sold the RV, raised a big garden, sold a few fruits and vegetables and pecans, raised a few goats and rabbits, and I hired out to a neighbor to remodel a mobile home and to help him work cattle, cut and bale hay, did a little tractor work with my own little Kubotas, then repaired/rebuilt mechanics' air tools for 3 years. And now I've been really retired for 4 years.

I worked full time and then some in sales engineering for a large multinational telecom company, that shall remain nameless, until they merged with another large domestic telecom company last year and made me redundant. That was six weeks after my only son was born and two months after my wife had opened a public relations firm so she could stay home with the baby. By the grace of God, her PR firm grew huge and we moved to the country. Now I'm a stay at home dad who also works in partnership with the wife to keep growing the PR firm. So not exactly working, but not really retired either. I LOVE IT!!

I retired in 2002
My wife retired the first time in 2000 after 33 years at the Bureau Of Public Debt. 3 months later she got hired at a shoe store worked there for 4 years before they closed down . Was off about a month then went to work as a server at a retirement community.She retired for good on june 30 2006.
