Afternoon Will,
I am a working stiff, 55 years old, toolmaker/modelmaker last 35 years. 7 years to go maybe less if the Chinese figure out what Im doin

Maybe a little hobby farmin at some point And just maybe a few more tractors

I just turned 52 and about 6 months ago I thought 32 years in the work force was enough. Just did'nt want to work anymore. A little less income but I get by. Paid half cash when I built the new house (small mortgage).

Navy retirement pay
10% VA disability pay
Monthly income rent check (that house is paid for)
Quarterly dividend check

Wife who is 12 years younger still holds a job.

Biggest expense I have now is taxes and insurance.

Yes.

Quit working for pay about 5 years ago, but the honey-do list is growing faster than I can I can keep up. Always figured the secret to happiness is keeping busy, so I am delirious.

Electrical engineer with company that makes control systems and hardware for power plants. A year and a half will make 35 yrs at this company and then I will join the ranks of the retired. Don't plan on becoming a full timer like Bird did, but plan to buy a camper and spend a lot of time in it traveling the country.

Still punching in every day. Electrician / Instrument Tech. for an oil refinery. Seven years, three months and five days to go. I will have just short of 41 years of service with them at that time. But then who's counting!

Retired first as a firefighter in 1997. But local government retirement being what it is the day I received my first retirement check is the day I started my new job. Quit my software engineer job just a bit over 2 years ago the get the 20 acres in shape. Still working at it, and only have 30 thing as at a time on my to do list. DW says if I ever get bored, just let her know.

I am a working Stiff, and getting a little stiffer every year.
I work from home as a old technodweeb testing software for a large corporation.

8 years USAF, then retired from a major police department in 1990. Retired again last month from a school district as the DMV Examiner and trainer for a school bus operation.

Somewhere in there I also made time to write 20 books about aviation.

Started SS this month. Have a few acres that is getting cleaned up, a small woodshop, and a ham radio station. I also web master several small commercial sites - easy work and good pay.

Wife is still working - loves her job (only a mile or so down the road). We have little interest in travel - just like a nice home together.
