What is the cost per square foot, lets say per 100, or 500?

I have $1.33 per sqft in this and that was after a 15% discount, or $1,600.00 for my 1200 sqft shop.

That floor sure looks NICE.

Thank you, not sure how long I can keep it that way but we shall see. One reason I started this thread was to be able to update it now and then over a few years maybe and give some feed back on how well the floor holds up.

I did my garage about twelve years ago, with Epoxy Coat high solids. https://www.amazon.com/EPOXY-COAT-FULL-KIT-BEIGE-500/dp/B00C7VX2V4

I used the single coat system. Clean it, grind it, vacuum, paint it, flake it, dust with in traction sand, done.

There is some wear, in the areas where the car tires run, and trash containers are stored. But, has stayed down, it's still shinny, and looks good.

How did oils that may have soaked into the concrete clean up, assuming you had that?

It sure is nice. But I wonder if just parking my Duramax in there with tires coated in stone dust and possibly stones in the treads would play havoc with the finish.

Finally got around to doing the floor coating for my shop it痴 only been sitting 3 years waiting for me to make a decision on which coating and also the time to do it.

I ended up going with Armorpoxy brand and there armor ultra kit, it痴 a 3 coat process. So far I知 really pleased how it turned out, how ever it was a LOT of prep work for 1 person with it only being 1200 Sqft.

First was many power washings of the floor and scrubbings , I then lightly went over the entire floor with a 7 hand grinder with a diamond cup wheel. The shop had only been used to store my tools and shop equipment since it was built but I did find a couple of spots were some oil leaked out of a tote and a piece of shop equipment. After cleaning many times I still could not completely remove the stain , so I ended up using a 2 part oil spot primer over the area were the stains were just to be safe.

The next day I did the entire floor with the 2 part epoxy primer.

On the third day I put down the epoxy and color flakes. ( The lighting in the pic makes it look tan for some reason but it痴 light gray.)

Fourth and final day was the 2 part military clear top coat.

This was after a couple days of dry time.

Sweet job... well done.

They give you a prep to clean it with in the kit. That worked fine except one spot, where there was a prolonged power steering leak on one of my old vehicles.

That spot fish eyed a little. I dropped some paint in the fish eyes with a small brush the next day. It's not noticeable.

I did not anticipate a problem, or I would have soaked it with solvent, and used compressed air to remove it, prior to painting.

It's hard to get the paint spread out thin enough to get the 500 sq ft coverage the say the kit is good for. I have 450 sq ft, and I just got it all covered.

If it's the first time, I would figure to only get 400 sq ft, out of the 500 ft kit, so you don't have to sweat having enough material.

I also recommend buying the spiked sandals, so you can walk out in the wet paint, to broadcast the paint flakes, and sand. Buy extra, and practice spreading the flakes, and sand, the day before. It does take some practice to be able to keep your coverage even. Throw them upward, so they disperse more evenly.

When my garage was new I did the floor with a gray, single component, stain. I just washed it and did an etching rinse with muratic acid prep. 25 years old and still mostly gray. Makes cleanup a lot easier.

We have the same stuff the OP used on his floor in our shop. Gravel road, skid steer going in and out. It scratches the floor and dulls the finish. Takes a while to get to the point where you need to go over it. 10 years for us. We just went over it with fine floor sander. Then thin coat right on top. Did not cost anywhere near original job. Happy with it, makes cleaning oil and grease much easier.

Appreciate the real life feedback.

My experience, whatever you place value on, will suffer. Don't care, and nothing will happen to it. No one ever got a ding, scrape or dent in a junker vehicle parked in a parking lot.
