There is one thing all of the previous posts have missed. When the country was shut down, a lot of small to medium sized businesses had (and are still having) a hard time making ends meet. Many have had their “credit rating” go in the toilet, and are on hold from their suppliers unless they pay all of the past due invoices, and yours, up front.

Many businesses are not in a financial position to do that, hence excessive delays. And a Myriad of excuses. No business is going to tell you they are on credit hold.

Just the way of the world.
If that's the case then they shouldn't be giving bogus delivery dates. No reason needed, just give an honest estimate, and keep me informed if that changes. There's nothing that I hate more than seeing that something is in stock, placing the order, seeing it get charged to my account then hearing nothing more from the company. If it's delayed tell me; I can be pretty patient yet once you take my money I expect something in return.

It’s very rare I’ve been disappointed with Amazon and if it’s not what was promised, we have gotten a refund. I’m not sure I’ve ever ordered a widget and woukd wait weeks or months for it, I’d probably get it somewhere else if at all possible.

Amazon, walmart, etc are happy to give refunds; the sellers pay them anyways, they do not care about either of their customers.

So —- that is a big reason to buy from Amazon and Walmart.

I never step foit in walmart, but buy from amazon and ebay alot. Im more than happy to support local businesses….if they bother stocking parts. I needed an air filter for my f350. Standard stock part…youd think. I checked 3 local auto parts stores and none had it. Priced out of this world too boot. Amazon had it at about 1/3rd less and gad it next day.

Depending on the auto parts store most things can be found pretty cheap here, and often comes with a lifetime warranty. It says something about how much they pay for those cheap parts when they can replace it three times without blinking.
Personally I prefer to pay a bit more and change it once.

Nearly EVERYTHING in all the auto parts stores comes from China!

I think the global market is too dependent from Chins by now.
They got a foot in the door through "competitive" pricing, waited out until nobody else bothered to produce certain items and now they cut the supply.
Everything seems on back order.

Look at the vehicle industry from car to semis. Thousands of vehicles can't be delivered due to missing parts.
And the manyfacturer fail to find a different source, get it built somewhere else or produce it in house.

I definitely think that this is a planned trade war from China, slowing down the other countries economies. And the virus gives them the advantage to hide.

I have a couple of friends and relatives who blame Wally for everything from putting other stores out of business or every made in China but they shop at Costco and Amazon. Duh?

That's not a issue related to China; that is Trump's new content requirements that killed the Mexican and Canadian suppliers. The materials are available but can not be imported into the USA, it will be a bit before Omega gets its US factories up to speed after moving them.
