Some of you may have been reading the post about the 47 blower on a 2210 that is very loud. Well after the snow we got in PA over the last day or so mine is shaking and rattling its self apart. I have had to put numerous sheer pins in just because they work loose after 10 minutes or so. What I would like to know is have any of you had and issue that you contacted Deere corporate about? Where and how did you contact them? Mail, Phone? My dealer has been a great help but now I think I need to at least ask Deere to address the issue. Any advice on how to proceed? I am glad you feel that your dealer has been a great help - but it really is up to them to contact Deere about the situation. I hope that they have already contacted DTAC and opened a file regarding your situation... If there is not a "known" problem and/or fix, DTAC should be working on resolving the problem - if they cannot come up with anything, DTAC would contact the ASM and get him involved. The ASM then would contact the Service Manager at the dealership to try and resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, if you try to go through Deere corporate, they will ask you to contact your dealer, and work through them.

Incase you did not know, the snow blower on your tractor is built by a Canadian company called RAD. Its the same blower that both Kubota and New Holland use -- We've actually put the yellow blower on an orange tractor. The snow that we just had here in PA was not normal, we fielded phone calls from customers all day about snow blower problems. Now we don't typicaly have "Ratteling" problems with the blowers, but I would not expect peak performance from the blower given the snow conditions.

Did one of the fan fins get bent, is it squealing like a bearing going out, are u-joints greased (if so equipped)? Seems strange that all of a sudden it starts acting up. Can you park in garage and let it thaw out, engage unit and see if it still shakes without a load on it?

Are you sure that the flanges, that are on the auger
shafts, are not loose? We have seen many of those
flanges (that have the drive coupler for the augers) come
loose, and start to slide on the shafts.
The most common is the flange on the impellar (fan) .
If that comes loose, the flange will slide forward, causing
the impellar blades to hit the blower housing, and eventually
breaking shear bolts. If tightening the set screws do not
secure the flange enough, we have put locking collars
on the shaft in front of the flanges to prevent them from
moving forward.
I'm not sure if this is the type of problem you are having,
but it's worth a look at.

Thanks for all the advice. I have tried all of the things above. The shear pins don't break anymore they just loosen and then it makes even more noise. As soon as I hear the change I replace it. I loctited the screws on the flange because it had creeped forward and was breaking pins from the impeller hitting the housing. My dealer says run it and ignore the noise. I can't do that, my but goes numb from the vibration and the I'm concerned the whole machine is going to loose nuts and bolts from this. The tractor it's self runs great. The performance over the snow we had here is PA was great. I'll contact my dealer again and see if he can do some more. I just don't want to keep chewing up parts and replacing pins every 15 minutes. I'm almost positive something is out of line or moving and it shouldn't. I couldn't find it and neither could the dealer. I'm glad you told me about it being the same blower across several brands. I was begining to think it was just this deere model. I had the same model on my 425 for 5 years and only broke a pin when I hit a stone or shovel the kids left out. Thanks again

Can you call these people and tell them what's going on and see if they have any suggestions? Maybe go to a NH or Kubota dealer if they use the same loader and see if they have any ideas.

That's a crock. I would expect it to blow snow. You may have to do it more often to keep it from getting so deep, but it should work.

Your right the 47 blower is a $3000 plus dollar unit with the Quick hitch. You should be able to blowing any amount of snow with it. I’ve been going crazy with my 47 blower, checking every set screw, drive chain and drive shafts. My blower is pretty noisy especially when you raise it when it’s running. Knock on wood haven’t had any shear pins breaking yet.

Mine is quiter when its raised. I don't think that would bother me as much. When I put mine in float it when all **** breaks loose. It's supposed to warm up into the 40 next week around here so I will take it down to nuts and bolts again and see what I see. I called my dealer and they are asking for help from DTAC. I hope to hear something early next week. Now I'm considering just upgrading to the 2520 with a blade. The blade is always quiet and I don't have snow blowing in my face when the wind changes. I really only need the blow once a year. We just don't gett the big snow storms anymore. I would be really mad if I have lots of snow comming down and changing pins every 15 minutes. My mother uses a POS cub cadet walk behind and it doesn't rattle and shake. I feel like a fool for spending good money to get something inferior.

I’ve been spraying the drive chain every day with WD-40 and it has definitely calmed it down. But it still isn't as quiet as it should be for the price I paid for it.
