Asphalt sealing 101?

   / Asphalt sealing 101? #11
For the driveway we did, we needed more than a 55 gal could hold (we did ponder that idea).

BTW - I forgot to mention. If you do rent the tank, have some 5 gal buckets with lids available. Should you have extra (better a little too much than not enough), fill the buckets instead of returning the material.

Beenthere, sealcoat is a different thing than tar and chip. 2 different materials, similar principal though.

Curmudgeon, compaction had nothing to do with it. Wear is the big thing. Sealcoat wont hold up to the traffic.

The coal tar emulsion is what you want to use because it will bond with the asphalt. If you can get a 55 gal drum or trailer load, great. If not then the buckets will work.
