I hate to give you more bad news but when mine started to go...they just kept failing until I had changed them all. Looking back it would have been better to purchase the whole assembly at $15k. The lost days plus the cost of repair really add up.

Did any position on the carriage last longer than the others? What about your drive rollers?

My left side rear went out, then a couple of weeks later the other side rear went out. My dealer told me that if the housing is not ruined you can replace the bearings, but by the time I paid for the labor, it would cost the same as just buying the whole new assembly.

The Bair products only has the wheels available. They said they aren't selling the bearings and assemblies until this fall (at the soonest). So you can buy the aluminum wheel now, but no bearings etc. Whick wouldn't help me much because my wheel only got messed up when my bearing went out.

On my second failure, I knew right away when it broke and I was able to stop before ruining my rollers.

Now I am just hoping I can make it without the others failing until I can buy them all from the bair people. That is if I can afford it. my drive motor went out last week and there is metal in my whole hydraulic system. It seems every dollar I make goes into repairs. But at least I am supporting the economy right!?

Do you like the life you get out of your tracks? If so, don't put aluminum wheels on the ASV. Your tracks will thank you.

I didn't at first but when I said they just kept failing I meant the idlers first then every roller...

If you are talking about the heat from the hydraulics, you might consider another heavy duty radiator and fan assembly, and keep all the coils super clean. Are you using synthetic hyd fluid? Have you checked all the relief valves to see if they are working. A stuck relief valve could generate a lot of heat. You might use one of those infrared heat guns, and note down all the readings.

JJ it is not a hydraulic issue. A hydraulic motor turns the track and the wheels at the bottom of the track have bearings in them. Three wheels times 7 on each side. The bearings in these wheels is what we are talking about.

On another note... One of the mechanics at my local dealer said that ASV tested aluminum wheels in the beginning and they decided to use the rubber rollers for several reasons. Bair products is not selling the bearings for the Asv 100 series yet. They do have the parts for the rc50 & 60 type wheels.

I am hoping when I get my machine fixed this week it will be under 3k..... then I'll move on to the next problem!
