The wild baby turkeys hatched today! I counted 10 babies. I'm guessing that 2 eggs haven't hatched. The baby turkeys have been walking around in our yard with their momma.

Looks like 10 mini thanksgiving dinners. Pretty cool living in the country where your daughter can see things like that.

Did you put sensors on the windows and doors, or just cable with the sensors later?
buckeyefarmer,
We just ran cables. That way we can wait to determine which sensors to install after we decide on a Home Automation system.

Yes it is. I had to get her up from her nap to see the baby turkeys. They hung around the yard for a couple yards then disappeared into the woods.

I've completed the blocking needed by the back porch decking. Some of the pressure treated boards were so twisted I had to use c-clamps to hold the new boards/joists in place to keep them from pulling the nails out of the opposite end of the board. Once the small blocking pieces were in place I was able to remove the c-clamps. After carrying my tools piece-by-piece from the garage and doing the same when putting them away, I decided to leave all the tools in the wheelbarrow. Now all my tools are easily brought out from the garage and easily put back in the garage afterward which is saving valuable minutes each evening.

I'm curious if anybody can figure out what the tennis racket is being used for? It's one of my most valuable and fun to use tools for the deck project.

Since it is right next to your hammer, my guess is that you have smacked a finger with your hammer starting a nail. You have figured out a way to use the tennis racket to hold and start your nails - thus protecting an aching swollen digit???

Swatting baby turkeys? :D

Hitting carpenter bees would be my guess as I do the same thing but with a badminton racket. You can sucker them in by tossing up a small rock as they will try and dive bomb it.
