No you need water in the hole you are drilling. It cools the bit while it is turning, adds some lubrication and carries away some grit/swarf. Just dipping the bit will only keep it cool, which isn't bad, but not a huge benefit. If you can really flood it with water that helps more, but is a bit sketchy around electrical tools...

Look What Showed Up

In less than a week after our old cat died, look what showed up at our house yesterday. We haven't fed it. It was crying on our back porch all evening yesterday. Finally I doused it with a cup of water twice to get it to leave when I went to bed. Our windows were open and the cat wouldn't shut up. Today it is on our back porch again.

Looks like you were meant to have a cat. It is my favorite color. Them orange cats just seem to have character.

Its a omen. Only you can figure out why as time go by.

Making Momma Happy!
My wife didn't like the fact that the ground was a little rough around the edges of the garden and was hard to mow. The roughness occurred after I plowed the garden this spring. Even though I had run a disc over it, it was still a little lumpy. So I smoothed the edges around the outside of the garden.

Do you guys ever do something "just because she wants it"?

While I had the box blade on the tractor, I decided to scrape off some crabgrass that has been growing on the crown of our driveway. I'm amazed that stuff will find start growing in the middle of loose gravel.
