What does the temp need to drop to before you bother plugging it in?

Personally I will start using my inline coolant heater on the tractor when the temp drops below 10C. Probably not necessary but I like to think I baby it sometimes. I'll plug it in for it 15 to 30 mins.
On my cars I don't use them much at all. Perhaps if we got more minus 20C weather I would.

Yikes! You guys do baby your tractors.

I've used mine about once so for and it gets pretty cold up here. I really ought to use it in the winter time but the problem is that I don't tend to think in advance that I am going to be tractoring so don't plug it in.

I need some sort of remote way to get it to start when I am in the house and make up my mind that I want to clear the driveway an hour from then or something.

I use mine when it is below 25f. Tractors and RAM Cummins alike.

Did you mean -10C?

I never plug in my tractor or truck until the temps are in the teens (F)--with good batteries I've never had trouble starting either one. I do have my truck block heater connected to a timer, which allows it to come on automatically about two hours before I'm going to leave if cold temps are predicted.
Regards, Mike

I follow a similar rule as ccsial. When the temp drops below freezing I'll plug the tractors in for ruffly an hours, below 0f longer. Never have a problem.

No, just 10C. I'll plug it in for 15 mins to take the chill out. Not that it's really necessary.

10C is 50F. That seems a little high. I plug the diesels in when it gets down to 10F-15F.
