I'm a truck driver and I'm on Adkin's and to be truthful it's a bit of a pita the biggest problem is when you don't have time to stop and eat if you're runnng late which thankfully is only about 99 percent of the time. My solution is I carry a refrigerator/electric cooler in the truck and I pack legal foods(diet legal) in it along with water and, at least in my opinon, regular water becomes boring I have the wife pick up flavored water at the local wally world , it's better for you than soda pop and cheaper to boot. Packed in my cooler I 'll have summer sausage/ beef stick , cheese's ,boiled eggs, sugar free jello, zip lock bags of meats etc.precooked by the wife , different types to prevent boredom, which is a killer of diets and once you get used to the hassle on the road it's not bad and after the initial period you actually quit craving the worst foods, for me this was pre wrapped grab and goes. When on the road if I want say a hot breakfast and my only option is your example of mc'ds I go in and order a side of sausage and eggs and thats all you get no breads of any kind it runs around 2 bucks give or take or if I have a choice of places find one with a breakfast buffet most of your better truck stops have them and it's real hard to screw up bacon or sausage and eggs. They make different size coolers and almost all truck stops carry them and so do a lot of retail stores so you could get whatever size that would fill your needs , BUT if you go this route I suggest that the first time you plug it in try to do it so that you have access to a battery charger and leave it plugged in for say a 24 hour period without starting the vehicle and see how your battery tolerates this , on the road in unfamiliar territory is not the place to find out that your battery is too small or weak to carry it . This is why I point out that there are different sizes. In summary : if you want to lose weight this is probaly the easiest to stick to, and is certainly effective and even on the road is not all THAT difficult. Good luck(60 lbs. and still on it /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif)
