Attaching 3 point implements

I highly recomend telescoping lower arms for your three point hitch. All I have to do is back up kind of close. Turn off the tractor and connect the lower arms then the PTO(if required) then the top link. Get back on the tractor and back up until the telescoping arms lock in place. The arms move in and out, left/right, and of course up/down. It may not be quite as fast as an easy change system but it fits everything and does not extend the length of the lower arms.

I drop the stump jumper on a small-truck tire. It allows me to swivel the entire unit and to raise and lower a corner. (A trick I learned here on TBN). A few kicks with the bottom of my boot eliminates the need for a 3-pound hammer. With practice it takes only a few minutes to get it hooked up.

Now THAT'S a neat idea. May be even better than a dolly since you can rock the implement raising or lowering a corner!

This has to be a bad correlation, but I find swearing helps a little.

My plumber is sure the "grand marteau" helps too.
Only recently did he tell me that grand marteau is french for "big hammer". :D

For best results, I have all these things:

0) leave implement on sufficiently level ground.

1) extendable sway bars.. Kubota factory standard install

2) PATS Easy Change...after market purchase

3) constructed with schedule 40 plastic pipe an attachment allowing me to raise and lower the 3ph arms from the rear of the tractor while I'm hooking
things up.

4) hydraulic top link with a chain tripod hanging arrangement allowing me to position the angle of the shaft so it will engage the implement properly...after market purchase/construction using regular hydraulic cylinder.

5) constructed, same as 3 above, attachment allowing me to lengthen and shorten the top link from the rear of the tractor.

6) 3 lb hammer carried with tractor at all times, seldom used.

7) devise a place to carry items 3 and 5 with the tractor always, yet out of the way.

Got any pictures of " items 3 and 5 " ? Thanks for sharing your ideas John .

Half my attachments are quick hitch compatible which works great. The other half I have my teenage sons help hook up. Think we will try flusher's prybar and Larry3228's truck tire ideas. They should work well together.

I use the telescopic links and I Match and have converted everything to fit (I Match) except the phd and the BB1284 boxblade. The telescopic link takes care of the odd implement on occasions.

I like the truck tire idea the best for bush hogs though.

FYI: If you decide to get the Pat's EZ change, Agri Supply has the set for $159 which includes the spreader bar. I found that out after I ordered mine from Pat's for $179, and I didn't get the spreader bar.

My mower sits on three 3" fence post. Just set it down on them set up as shown and you can move it most any direction with ease. I learned this with my Dad as he aged and had trouble hooking up my big mower. Sorry for the high tech display, but it's pouring here again.

I find it much easier to get things lined up if I line up the center of the tractor with the center of the implement instead of trying to line up the implement's pins with the 3pt arms.

I also use the extendable links and a hydraulic top link. And at the risk of inflaming the safety patrols I also use the hydro pedal from the ground to move the tractor forward or back as needed to get lined up.
